I just love it when people cannot see people supporting someone who they believe, admire, respect, and connect with. They also can't stand when people speak up and stand up for them or themselves just because some people aren't brave enough to do so. The Veil of Shadows has the alternative title in MDL as Painted Skin: The Resurrection, so it appeared he may be doing a yet another remake. Since GJM and JJY both have a strong sense of their own aesthetics, I wondered how that would work in the drama, but I have read that GJM has banned JJY's usual makeup crew from the set. It does explain the pictures coming from the production. I am looking forward to your take when it is released.

ngl surprisingly I'm actually enjoying Love Song In Winter, I binged all first 6 episodes, I sometimes skip here and there especially the slow motion and their past memories bits but overall it's good!

Hi AvenueX, thank you for your perspective. I agree 2024 has been a tough year for WHD. Personally, I have liked all of his rap songs and I'm a little surprised that China does not. Is it that C-ent prefers idols to 'stay in their lane'? Actors should act, singers should sing etc.? Curious to know what you think. I enjoyed Unchained Love but hated OFL. Here's hoping his new dramas are good and well received.

Rappers in China have a bad rep (heh) after one too many scandals involving rap singers. AFAIK there was a recent (this summer) very public scandal of a rapper dude cheating on his wife or gf (i forget) with another celebrity. It was on hot search for like a week straight. I didn't pay much attention to it but I stalk a forum on Douban and they were talking about it quite a bit.

Regarding WHD, what happened AvenueX? Did you got triggered? It really confirmed the saying “You (haters) get choked up when you hear my lyrics”. There were actually a lot of praises for his music when it came out until a group of haters, fans of previous co-star, and AI accounts showed up. They bombarded the positive posts until the person deleted their positive reviews. I listened to his songs and they are so awesome! Rap not necessarily have a real enemy. But why people are hating on him for hyping himself up. Lmao. He opened up about his life in his music. The haters said he cannot mention DFQC, he cannot say he is handsome. 🤭 Dylan can say or do whatever he wants in his music. At least he's doing it. Acting, business, music, fashion, basketball. The skys the limit. Also you seem to left out a few things. Aren’t Dylan’s dramas after LBFAD were signed at his lowest point? If Unchained Love was aired before LBFAD, his drama would not have received unfair treatment and got censored heavily. Didn’t you praised Never give UP? OFL was a bad production that did not respect him and changed and extended the script to boost supporting actors. The shady director showed Dylan in bad angles early in the drama. It was signed before LBFAD or he will be out of work for 11 months. I clicked on the hater profiles of these people posting repeated identical comments to slander him. Their profiles were all exactly the same, it was not a real person. If Dylan is not at the top why is someone paying 💰 money to bring him down?

It's his growing experience of his life from his heart. He just defended himself with haters and other fans who constantly attacked him. You can express and communicate in many different ways. WHD created music and rap to express himself. What's wrong with that? That's his feelings, thoughts, and experiences. That's no right or wrong with music and lyrics as long you're not intentionally hurting others.

WHD hasn’t been in the front burner lately, so any news is marketing material. I personally prefer watching him in variety shows rather than dramas (except for LBFD which he was dubbed to make it work). I take it lightly with his song, thinking he is just annoyed that others can look great next to YSX, has chemistry with her and this has not caused fan wars 🤷‍♀️

For his song i also take lightly even if he really mean to diss a specific actor but the timing is not good for him. He has been super hyping about this new drama and cp since last year and when it’s about to release he made his image destroyed by releasing that rap song i mean lyrics are pretty harsh (although i know it’s a diss) and understand why the cnetz are responding in that way. Hopefully the drama work well or if not it will not really good for his image. Personally i still don’t get any cp chemistry between him and the fl.

I totally disagree with you on WHD again because if you pay any attention to him you should know how many haters and attacks he received without any drama released this year. WHY? As per your perception, he isn't at the top, so why need to spend all the 💰 and effort? Btw, since 苍兰诀, he has been working on new dramas and movies. His dramas 浮图缘,今日宜加油,战火中的青, 以爱为营were all projects completed before his fame and popularity increased from 苍兰诀. Guardians of Dafeng 大奉打更人 was the first drama he joined after his success in 2022. Until now, we still haven't seen another actor having the same success as him in the past 2 years. You are too soon to judge his success because this is still only the beginning. Why such a crime for someone to share his passion for music, rap, fashion, and sport? You don't have to love him but at least have respect for him as an artist who is very brave to be himself in front of the entertainment industry mostly only show us what they think we want to see.

Okay. I even said WHD had a tough year. To qualify, that was because in terms of drama visibility there has been nothing new. I'm so glad Dafeng is out soon because I don't want his popularity to be diminished. But...I only started following WHD in Aug 2023 when I first watched LBFAD. Everything since has been catching up, VS, promotions and his songs. I've loved everything he's done except OFL and MG. I didn't hate Miss the Dragon but didn't finish it, so in between. I think it's great that he expresses himself in whatever way he chooses and is brave enough to do so. I'm sure he knows not everyone will like it or agree, but so what? He's a real person and just like we speak our minds on social media, he does the same but in song. Well done, WHD. May you shine in dramas, movies, VS, songs, basketball and your personal life. Yes, a fan. ❤
