What impresses me is that back in those days this film was considered a pop sentimental melodrama with no high artistic value (compared with contemporary movies), while amidst today's cold, meaningless, spineless acting and scripts it is a masterpiece..! 🙄🙏

I was engaged to the most beautiful girl in the world. She died shortly after of cancer, aged 18. That was 42 years ago. I still miss her, I still cry sometimes when I think of her, like now, I still go to her grave most weeks even though I'm an atheist and I know she isn't there. I've married twice over the years, but she was the only woman I have ever been in love with. This amazing film was so well done I would recommend it to anyone, just bring the tissues.

My dad had a gentle hand and put our kid sisters and mom on a pedestal. Me the oldest son got his fist and beatings on almost a daily basis and hated him. I loved my mom with all my heart and never blamed her from what he did to me. I lost my mom to a rare autoimmune disease that took her from a healthy 68 year old woman to her death bed in 9 months. This exact scene was my dad crying in my moms arms begging please don’t leave him behind after 52 years of marriage. I realized then he had a heart to though didn’t know how to use toward me.

The ethos of the time, year 1970, made this movie a great box-office success. During the 1960s there was this idea that once in 1970 the wonders of modernity will take over the world. However, the 70s would carry quite a load of problems and lashes of hard reality. But in 1970, 100 million teenage girls and boys around the world were very moved by the somewhat look-like-real-people romanticism. The first time when language profanity, nudity, and sex scenes were presented by young actors to youngster audience; it scandalized the parents, but that only pushed the movie popularity up.

Very few have the guts to say what a lousy movie this was. The acting was terrible. The story was worse. Love does sometimes mean saying you're sorry. The terrible profanity, the disrespect for parents, the fake "love" all added up to a very empty story.
@shackelford336 жыл бұрын
it's me Joolz Yowza! It's just their opinion. They even knew they would get some push back for the comment, but I have to agree. Some movies age very well as time goes by...some don't. In this scene..the acting isn't the...best. Her delivery isn't the worst, but it isn't the best either.
@samanthajayewardene45236 жыл бұрын
I completely agree that it's completely unrealistic. If she were really dying she would be emaciated, pale and weak. She would also be in palliative care at the end of her life. Illnesses generally tend to take a lot out of a human body this is not well done or believable.
@jelena89605 жыл бұрын
It's a classic and that is a fact. It is not something to be liked, but something to be appreciated. For today's terms some of the old acting would be incredibly bad, for the old terms some of today's acting is even worse. Despite the quality it's a classic and one of the greatest movies. You may not like it but you can't expect for people to not watch and appreciate it and agree with you on top of that.
