I'm turning 23 this year and honestly hearing that someone else was single for 20+ years makes me so much less anxious about finding love. All my other friends are already getting married, are dating someone or at least dated someone at some point and I was always self conscious for not even having a single date in my entire life, nevermind a boyfriend. I can also relate to this I’m 24 years old, I have never had a girlfriend before, I have never kissed a girl before and I relate to being shy and socially anxious and I’m still having trouble finding someone compatible to date. You shouldn’t feel embarrassed in starting to date, having your first boyfriend and kiss at 26. Everyone’s relationship history starts different and finding a boyfriend/ girlfriend is about finding someone who you are compatible with and have a connection with and quality over quantity. I think it's fine with choosing to take interest in relationship at an older age. That just means you want to be prepared and it's a comfortable age for you. Everyone have different ways to approach dating. As for me I haven't dated at all nor am I interested in anyone romantically (no first love :'')). It's cause I'm too preoccupied I feel like I can't manage anything more in my plate now, as well as my unsociable self added with the boys around me knowing I would've already turned them down by the minute. I'm thinking around 20+ and I would also have my parents supervise from a far :D It's not weird, it's being safe. You're parents don't have to attend the date cause... It's a date?? And you're both adults. But with how we have to protect ourselves, it puts people like me in ease when if anything goes wrong my parents or friends are ready to swoop in to take me away.
