For real, recently I had written a comment on a relism eye tutorial short, just like a fun little joke, like 'Laughs in anime style' or smthn, and then a random Person comes up to me, telling me I wouldnt improve if I didnt Lear relism first. Like bruh, I do know some, and I Dont essencially NEED it to improve. I can learn anatomy wiout realism. Just like the shoulder thing in this video. I was refenrecing a vid from lavendertowne too, and they just straight up said 'Well she not good either'. They were just hating on any artsyle that wasn't realism. Congrats if you actually read this piece of thought my brain had, take a whatever emoji that is 🐠
@Hearts_4_Nini Жыл бұрын
@@Jul._.777 yeah I notice I alot of people style shame by saying “if you don’t draw realism first, your not gonna improve” but that’s not particularly true I started with cartoon art and I’ve been getting very good at realism! I’ve studied anatomy for about 2years now and I’m improving on that aspect of my art! (I’ve been drawing for my whole life and I’m not gonna give out my age but I will say I have my fair share of experience for art) and one thing I really take away is from it is to try to understand proportion but keep your true art style close to your heart! I’ve used this mindset throughout my anatomy study journey and it works wonders!! ( if you read this then thank you for reading my essay of a comment lol)

I really love the way you critique; your desire to help each person create the very best work they can, while they pursue their passion shines through. I also love that you go out of your way to find positive things to say about each piece. Having been a critique receiver elsewhere, I know when I get some, all the little artist hackles raise up and stand on end. My ego screams WHAT DO YOU KNOW, IT'S PERFECT AND GLORIOUS AND I CREATED IT AND IT IS PART OF MY SOUL while my emotions are going OW OW OW OW why does no one like my work OW OW OW OW OW and my common sense part (who has to pin the other two and sit on them both goes 'yeah, that's a valid point' now let's fix it) so it's so nice to see you give out praise too. A little praise when common sense is wrestling ego and emotions is so nice. ;)

I never understand why people come for people like you who offer help. As an artist no matter how good we become we always have more things to learn, thats what makes art fun. It would be boring if we could just become some sort of peak level perfect and never have to progress, or i think so personally. If you look at people that meet up to hang out knitting, or sowing, or maybe pottery making, you will see all kind of artists at different levels or with different styles, converse and give each other tips and tricks. Heck i started attending an art club for painting solely, and i was compleyely new to the wet-paint and canvas medium, yet i had some tecniques from my digital art experience i could translate over to the paint medium and i started playing around and some really good painters at the club came to me and asked how i did certain shadows on a set of bushes on my nature piece (keep in mind that i am still not a very good painter, and i have a lot to learn compared to the others who has painted their entire life, absorlutely gorgeous piece, i just managed to make a couple of really pretty bushes, so not tooting my own horn here) and i got a bit taken aback because i felt like i had no place speaking as if i knew what i was doing, so i humbly told them how i had taken an old worn out paint brush (i had gotten a lot of used stuff from a friend) and had cut it in a certain way so i could dry dab with it to create the little leaf-bush effect, and one of them litterally took one of her fancy brushes over to me and asked me to do the same to hers. I was so worried but it ended up working out fine and she was so greatful despite being far above my skill level herself. And she has taught me so much ever since as well. We all find small methods to make stuff work out. Heck my dad is a carpender, build buildings his entire life and yet i sometime still help him and give him some fun or good little hacky ideas i can thank drawing and praticing circles and shapes so much for, we all have something we can teach one another, and you taking time to help others as per their request, when you could be drawing your own stuff, is so selfless and amazing. And you are so kind and comfortable to listen to, to boot.

17:00 i’m really confused with this one because of the difference in skill level with the clothes and the head. the clothes look really detailed and skilled but the face, hair and hands are shaded with a white airbrush and are drawn with thicker, less refined black lines. it looks like the artist cut and paste their own head onto another artists work? the character is also really disconnected to the background and looks like it’s been cut out. if you look closely you’ll see where the skill level changes and the weird inconsistencies where that happens. maybe the artist used ai or used someone else’s art for the clothes.

Hey!
