I couldn't stop it was too good!!!!! The tag line for every LIVE Lovebites song!!! Nice one David, and Miho/bass is a true metal-head (Iron Maiden devotee) who looks like a bobble-head doll during most of the concerts. The M & M show here is a clinic in trading off back and forth done flawlessly LIVE no less. I knew this one with Asami vocals and the M & M show shine time with the backbone of Miho/bass and the pocket nuke Haruna/drums driving this would get a smile out of you. WOW it made it on David's Gym list, now that is an accomplishment!!! Midori and Miyako are different from personalities, playing style and tones and harmonics but they blend together so perfectly it is amazing. New LP drops on 3/10 so we will see what the ladies have to offer in it.

"Daughters of the Dawn" is the name of the live CD/Blu-ray. The venue was Mynavi Blitz Akasaka in Tokyo. The Zepp Diver City Tokyo show from 2020 is the "Five of a Kind" Blu-ray.

Fun reaction, as always, but honestly, your focus on people jumping around is a little over the top. I could not care less. I actually like the contrast between Midori's extroversion and Miyako's introversion. It also comes out in their playing. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the speed demon; Miyako has the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. They are both top-tier shredders when they want to be. Miyako can stand still the whole time but you can still see the intensity in her face, and that's enough for me. Oh--she is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. Hope you see some of their clips with her shredding the piano.

I've thought about Miyako's introversion and I wonder if it is in any way connected to her being classicaly trained? I don't mean that it's because of classical music or anything, but you seldom see classical musicians headbanging or running across the stage :-) It could be a musical culture thing. And she is moving more towards the end of 5 of a kind, for example.

@@Jordan-Ramses showmanship rakes many forms. Miyako’s stoicism, in contrast to Midori’s animation, is part of the act, and adds to her mystique. To me, that’s more interesting than if she were jumping around like the others. But everyone is entitled to like what they like.

Miyako was trained unlike the others as a concert pianist and taught discipline and focus on her music so she focuses more onstage but off stage she's more smiley and open.

Hi David ! About Midori's tripping, it could be a disaster, remember Midori is carrying a heavy guitar on her small body and she is in a pair of skinny heels. She could've broken one of her ankles or even both. Imagine if it happens to you with skinny heels.

Hey David, another great video! The trading solos at the end always leaves my jaw on the floor! Love the way the song starts with the drum kicks into the bassline and the guitars then join them. I love everything about Asami, from the way she sings, to her movements on stage, the interaction with the crowd, just like you said she's a stage General! And the funny thing is she comes from an R&B background, there is a video of her performing in a club before Lovebites even existed and watching that and then these clips you can really see how well she adapted, how well she took the role of being the frontwoman for a metal band! Two suggestions - "The Crusade" Live from the same show as this, from the start you can see Miyako is into the song right away as she headbangs throughout the whole intro and later on you can even see her smile! It's a bit rare doing off-beat open high hats (disco?) in metal and hard rock. Haruna (the drummer ) kept on switching high hat and bass pedals back and forth brilliantly.

FINALLY. Someone reacts to my absolute favorite Lovebites song, and live version of that song. Glad the cameras caught the moment Asami moved away and Midori almost fell backwards, and Asami turns around still singing, and you can hear a bit of a laugh when she looked back and saw what almost happened saying, "My bad" of sorts.

I know it has been mentioned that the decided role of Miyako was to be more reserved. That is more by choice. If you watch her when she played in Sonic Lover, she is much more animated (and looks really good in black latex). So she can be much more active, and often some of her power poses are missed due to her long dress, but it's just her part of the show. I like Midori and I like Miyako and I love their personalities. And I have NO problems with Miyako standing still. She is playing like a goddess and look gorgeous standing still. If you look closely you see her concentrating and totally being one with her music. Some says she looks bored. Nope, it is a combination of her being concentrated and being a bit introvert.

Hi Dave. Just a quick question. If anyone knows, either you, or one of your viewers will. At 16:23, Midori reaches up the neck and pinches/twists the strings to change the pitch. Have you or anyone else here, seen any other guitarist do that? Or is that an innovation of hers. In all my 63 years, of listening/seeing a lot of bands, I've never seen it. Would really be interested to know.

That's an old Steve Vai and Joe Satriani trick. What she's doing is reaching her right arm down the neck and using her finger to create a capo, on either one string or possibly all 6 I can't tell from the distance, it looks like it's just on the 1st string which is open E. So that changes the "open string note" from an E to what looks like a G# (it looks like her right finger is on the 4th fret). So while she's tapping with her left hand, whenever she takes the finger of her left hand off the string....rather than the string ringing an open E, it's now ringing an open G#. Depending on what notes she's taping, that G# is more than likely part of a triad. So the left hand could be tapping B and D# for example, and getting a G#m triad. OR...it could be a 5th inversion of a C#m triad, so the left hand would be hammering C# and E, and then the "open note G#" would be the inverted 5th. First time I ever saw that done was Satriani when he played The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing.

A band like Lovebites has everything to win from allowing reactors to post their stuff, since the more people who see their stuff the larger their audience and potential record buyers. I guess it's their management or something...idiotic!

That's exactly who it is. the bands could honestly care less if people do reaction videos with their material. they're actually intelligent enough to know that it would be another avenue of free exposure, which might lead to new fans and followers....which, surprise surprise, leads to more sales of albums and merch. Unfortunately the record labels and production companies don't see it that way....and since they own the publishing and distribution rights they make the calls. Stupidity.

I have a theory feeling that the "guitarist on stage right" (Miyako) is rocking much more often when she holds that monsterous looking guitar. Not sure why - but I really feel that this absolutely un-feminine over-the-top design of this guitar for some reason adds some vibes that she doesnt feel when she plays other guitars. Just a guess.
