Welcome back to the Metal Goddesses. Here in a sterile arena (less than 50% capacity, assigned seats, social distance, no yelling, shouting or cheering and clapping only) the ladies brought the thunder and rocked the place to the ground. This is part of the new LIVE album and it is stunning with 7 songs never done LIVE before!!! No one plays thrash like these ladies and they glide effortlessly from their influences (Slayer to Maiden to Metallica band back again). The talent is insane but the practice devotion in the relentless pursuit of perfection is equally crazy. The M & M show harmonizing while picking, sweeping and tapping at insane speeds and doing it in total sync!! This band is so tight and in sync LIVE it is truly scary. Great reaction as always and congrats to Asami/vocals as she announced she is now married!!! One less Goddess for the single WOLF-PACK members to fawn over!!!

Yep Miyako is rocking the Peavy 6505 +, one of the few head amps that can get scooped without an OD, there are a few others like the Mesa Boogie Mark V but they are EXPENSIVE. If you have a discord I can give you a link to her loadout. When I was searching for amps to get that scooped effect the 5150 and the 6505 popped up everywhere. Now I know why Miyako uses it, she also uses that orange cab to add some warmth, the tone from the 6505 straight up can be a bit cold. I’m glad you loved the song, these ladies are fucking awesome.
@DavidKAnderson3 жыл бұрын
Matsuri from Hanabie uses a 6505, too, and gets that great scoopy metalcore tone for her wonderful riffcrafting. She did a fun unboxing video for it that included a bit of a "what have I gotten myself into" moment when she lifted it up for the first time. Great amps...but not exactly light.
@christopherlidster39183 жыл бұрын
@@DavidKAnderson I was trying to look up her loadout the other day because I loved the tone from “we love sweets” you don’t happen to know if they have a STAGE profile do you? also the lifting is to be expected, that woman is TINY lol. But yeah she has some killer riffage too, I love her style. Im glad we live in an age of all these great musicians, to see all these badass women cutting out their piece by bringing brutal metal

They do have a couple songs where they move around more. Scream for Me and Raise Some Hell are more on the rock side but that frees them up to be more energetic on stage. Their songs are technical and fast so I don't really mind them hanging around one spot especially when they have to do backing vocals during the chorus.

Lovebites has so many great and good songs to keep going down the rabbit hole with, but Swan Song with the Chopin Etude intro, I think, really is a must; it showcases a beautiful classically-influenced composition from the genius mind of Miyako that sets Lovebites in its own corner of the metal world.

@christopherlidster39183 жыл бұрын
@@corbysloan4926 Nemophila is very talented no doubt at all. Correcting Chad's point here, Lovebites is likely the best Traditional/power/Thrash band in Japan. Nemophila Doesn't play those 3 subgenre's at all, so "as good" is completely subjective since they are working with two entirely different skillsets. Can Nemophila come on stage and play Set the World on Fire? No becuase 1 they don't play Thrash, so they haven't practiced downpicking at high speed (As a guitarist I can tell you that your arm will fall off downpicking fast like this), 2 Completely different lead styles, Nemophila is grounded in Blues and Arppeggios, Lovebites Leads employ Legato, String Skipping, Sweeps, Slides all of which requires tons of very specific training that isn't required for Deathcore Metal. Lovebites Solos are nearly 3-4x as long as Nemophila's, 3. Lovebites has significantly more live experience than Nemophila does, they play nearly perfect live which is incredibly hard to do considering how complex and layered their songs are, the solos alone are brutally hard and fast. Lovebites couldn't get on stage and play Death Core, or Match Mayu's screams. Each band has their place, Fanboy my dads better than your dad needs to go away, all of these wonderful ladies all want to see their dreams come true, why not support all of them? None of this is indicative of one groups talent being better than another, they are all from different schools of music. Hazuki, Saki, Tami, Haraguchi and Mayu are amazing artists/Musicians. I have pretty much all of their songs in my JMetal Playlist. Lovebites is my goto, but I listen to a lot of Nemphila too, Oiran was on repeat in my car for nearly a month.
@zainalabidinramli7623 жыл бұрын
At times comparative analysis between groups might not be fair or do justice to the tireless effort each has invested to achieve their aspirations. For instance between Asami and Mayu where both have extreme dichotomies in musical direction and experience, reckon would be trivial to rank or rate them in comparison. Rather, a consideration of the evolution of the group and where its future direction is, and its consequent impact to its followers would provide insight on their esteemed position in the music world, if they are sustainable and have endurance capacity. If resume and track record is the criteria, Lovebites possess near dream team perfection. An accomplished musicians band off stage and on stage, all members read and write music and compose, and song writing and compositions are par excellence. Consider for a moment, after 5 years or so, metal might just be a descriptive label, the added flavorings that provide the essence of the sound for Lovebites. But primarily, the focus in their evolution is their skill and strength in designing compositions, epic and unprecedented which others cannot do for lack of musical theory and literacy, and great keyboard and piano players. And with Asami fronting together with keyboard based compositions and collaboration from the 3M's and Haruna , the foresight is not totally metal in direction, but uniqueness in breathing new life into the definition of metal. Lovebites is about compositions first and metal being the after thought, which is typical of a musicians band akin to the likes of TOTO and Dream Theater. In contrast, most other metal bands think metal first, and subsequently shape or design their compositions. As for the superlative label of being best, this might not be suitable for Lovebites as the landscape where they stand, has no proven domicile for others. Nemophilia is still in infancy. No doubt, they have the required skill sets, but the direction they aspire to be currently seem ominous as this particular landscape is inundated with landmines planted by many angry and growling bands. Still too early for them to carve and attained the niche area that would provide them the competitive edge. They are in for a rough and tough ride. Anyway, just sharing my 2 cents worth.

If there aren't any decent new ones, I'll rewatch one of my favorites. Guess which one is my most favorite? No, Arsenic & Espresso reacting to "Shadowmaker" is #2. #1 is YOUR reaction to "Holy War!" If you want to see an epic guitar battle, watch LOVEBITES play "Scream for Me" live in Tokyo 2019 e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5TanKOenN-BnZo I notice people are making song recommendations without specifying which recording they prefer. That may be due to copyright take-downs, but whatever you do, if you come back to LOVEBITES, stay away from the Bloodstock recordings (audio is terrible). A couple of people mentioned Miyako's stoic / demure style / deep focus. If you want to see what she looks like having fun on stage, watch Miyako & Midori playing "Farming Simulator" live with DragonForce (prob'ly not worth a reaction, but a fun /different side of Miyako)

A high-heeled heavy metal band with no tatoos, what is it? Laugh if it's funny. But if you like it, let's go all the way.

It's thirty years that Japan has studied, understood and assimilated what is the soul of rock, Visual kei has marked the way and while the rest of the world was and is annihilated by Hip Hop music the talent of the Japanese was set in motion, the results are there for all to see, what we are listening to today is a beautiful sakura 櫻 flower, talent, ability and commitment, and the background in Japan is more active than ever, ready to launch other bands of undoubted value, Japan and Rock, Rock and Japan, one cannot do without the other! If you haven't already done so, I recommend listening to "REVIVE" by that extraordinary band NEMOPHILA, Mayu is sublime...!
