Lovebites is so good it’s ridiculous. I can’t find a single flaw with this band, The look great, play even better and the song arrangements are unreal. This is like lightning in a bottle. Just wow.

Wow, you never heard power-metal before? What a way to start!!!!! So, some background on the band: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music. They have only been around for about 4 years. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. One key to their sound is that the two shredders are so different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets really rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Lovebites - Rising It's like the perfect warm up, hype song to go do something amazing. They have amazing ballads too, where Miyako plays the piano. I know you've already listened to Band-Maid. Now you just got into Lovebites. Another band you should check out is Nemophila. Listen to their song "Oiran" for some awesome vocals.
