The Radical Priest is a reference to Father Daniel Joseph Barrigan, a Jesuit Priest and Catholic Pacifist who was arrested several times for protesting the Vietnam War. Me and Julio was a big hit single for Paul Simon in 1972, when I was 12 years old. This video, however, was made by Paul Simon in 1988. However, Paul Simon has said in videos that he doesn't know what The Mama saw, but it was probably something sexual. He never bothered to figure out what she saw. Besides John Madden, New York Yankee great Mickey Mantle hit Simon's pitch out of the park! I like the little rap segment at the beginning of the video. This was the first time I saw this video, so thanks for this reaction video!

This was from the first LP Paul Simon cut after breaking up with Garfunkel. He was going for a lighter attitude, funkier sounds, Latin rhythms, and a lot of sounds that he didn't think he could get to if he had to write Garfunkel's vocals at the same time. Paul Simon was a devoted New York Yankees fan, which explains Mickey Mantle's appearance. (Mantle was from Commerce, Oklahoma BTW.) Other Paul Simon songs of note (among many) are "Mother And Child Reunion" "Loves Me Like A Rock" "Still Crazy After All These Years" "Train In The Distance" "Boy In The Bubble." Three very essential Simon and Garfunkel songs: "Sound Of Silence" "Homeward Bound" and "America."
