Wow, the shirts are amazing, as is the trivet pad, and as far as your binding goes, we all know you’ll crack it soon. Have a great weekend.

Hi Kim. Both shirts are lovely. You truly are the shirt master. What a shame that the new lemon fabric didn't match the old but you did a great job making it work. I do love a nice lemon print so I thought the trivet was perfect. I do admire the way you find ways to use up your scraps. I wish I was that diligent using scraps. The bias looks perfect on camera but I know you have very high standards and won't settle if you're not happy with it. If you do find a good video, please share. Enjoy your weekend.

@@kathymcconville6428 thanks Kathy. Being a perfectionist is hard work! I can drive myself potty sometimes because I like things to be just so 🤩. I promise if I find a binding video I will share. Enjoy your week also xx

The shirts came out so well! It must feel good to be able to use the lemon fabric so successfully for your daughter, and your husband’s shirt was fantastic. I wasn’t able to find the link to the extra tummy alteration. I do have a loved one who would benefit from this alteration so if you wouldn’t mind I would so appreciate a source for that. I am finding that sourcing men’s RTW shirts in all cotton is getting more and more difficult, especially when the wearer is a bit particular about prints and colors, so sewing them is sounding like a really good idea. I am not sure if it was just my machine, but it seemed like I had to use several new machine needles when quilting oven mitts with the insulbrite batting as my needles dulled rather quickly. I love your trivet and coasters. That would be such a great way to use up my leftover insulbrite scraps. I wish I had some great wisdom for joining the binding, but I just seem to pin and press and fiddle with it until I finally get an acceptable finish. I am sure the quilters out there have some sort of a better system. If you learn an easy way, please share because I would also love to know how to join binding smoothly.

@@nadinewoods6971 thanks Nadine. The link to the tummy adjustment video is kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5OQaoCleKyMoK8si=Gvswsz5cNqOUoXrX. It's video #14 - Matching Shirts for Christmas. Watch from 04:37 all the way to 14:27. I've used this adjustment for my hubby twice now and his shirts are fitting lovely. No pulling at the front bands over the tummy. He's also very particular about fabric, but I can't go wrong with nautical themes for him. I used a 80 needle with a quilting stitch, stitch length 3, and had no problems. Good luck with the shirt. If I find a binding video that works for me I'll happily share. Have a lovely sewing week ❤️

You are so talented Kim. I aspire for my shirts to look as pristine as yours one day. I also can't wait to see your Bound tee as I have mine cut out and haven't got much further than that. I know seeing your versions will inspire me to "pull my finger out". 😂

Hi Kim, the lemon shirt is lovely, but I especially love the tie front blouse you're wearing, it's so pretty. I'm still right off sewing and my latest craze is Toft Birds Amigurumi. Have a lovely week. X

@@linvin18 thanks Linda. I'm sewing obsessed at the moment. I was out with my hubby yesterday and all I could think about was getting home so I could sew. After a busy week work-wise I was itching to get into my sewing room. My daughter's boyfriend's mum is into amigurumi and made Rachel a green pickle for her keyring. It is so cute and very tactile. Enjoy your week making toft birds ❤️

All the shirts you make look great Kim. Do you have a favourite ladies shirt pattern with a collar stand ?. I do prefer Indie patterns, with all their details. 😊

@@carolbibby3089 thanks Carol. My two favourite shirt patterns are Simplicity 1538 and Butterick 5526. Both these patterns have collar stands and collars, which is my preferred style. I haven't tried any indie shirt patterns yet, though I have Pattern Emporium's All In Easy-fit shirt. I'm starting to try more and more indie patterns as I like how detailed they are and how well thought out the designs are. Watch this space! ❤️
