Phrases used to begin meetings and describe situations 1. We have got lots of ground to cover so let’s make a start - Phrase used to introduce topics/ meetings and presentations 2. State-of-the-art - Adjective phrase meaning innovative and modern 3. To break the mould - descriptive phrase for new ground breaking methods/ techniques and research Phrases for saying more or introducing a new point 4. Turning our attention to - used to change the topic/ move on to another subject - attention can now be turned to - more academic version of the phrase 5. I’d like to expand on.. - Used when you want to say more on a particular point 6. Let me elaborate further - Used when you want to say more on a particular point Phrases used to say more or when you want to refer back 7. This relates to what I was saying earlier - Used to connect back to a previous point 8. To revisit the aforementioned topic - Used to connect back to a previous point 9. This ties in with - Used to connect two or more points together Phrases used to emphasise the importance of something 10. The significance of this is - Used for emphasis to show what it shows/ indicates 11. The importance of this matter should not be underestimated - Used to strongly draw attention to something’s importance 12. This is a salient point - Used to say that something is important/ notable Phrases used for opinions/ conclusions 13. /14. We have come to the conclusion that the best course of action is… - Used to present a way forward/ a plan - We have reached the decision that 15. We are still mulling over the options - We are still considering the options… 16. The plan of action for today is… - Used to explain the plan for the day 17. A quick recap of the plan is… - Used to review a plan… idea… - Can we have a quick recap? Phrases used for making reference to information 18. Based on our findings… - Used to say how you will use information, used to say what conclusions can be drawn from findings.. 19. Thankyou Sabrah Maam, I think this'd help me a lot for critical analysis part of Essay exam which I'm going to take in coming days. I am still working on cohesive argument building, apart from objective writing, least I need to understand is thesis and gateways to design introduction of the Essay while attempting my essay exam which might comprise of some general topics, i.e, Climate Change, Higher Education:ills and remedies, Future of Democracy, Freedom of Speech, Class rooms decides the future of a nation, discuss etc. So this is all where I need your help to crack this nut. "I think you got a triskaidekaphobia". Oh, gosh, are you sure "medico"? I like No.10: Re-citing! (in my way) " The significance of this statistic is that the British going to have to work doubly hard next year to get the same figures that they produced this year, or will get busted. 👉The man behind No.10 door still mulling about the Brexit options. Why we use transitive verb and intransitive and How will we know transitive verb and intransitive verb. Teach us active voice and passive voice and also definite articles and indefinite articles. please Leila and sabrah take a strike action on this lesson.....
