I work Cap 2 and the women at my store actually help unload the truck and do everything the guys do. I think the most challenging thing is breaking down frozen and dairy when people are always asking for your help.

do the women like actually throw the truck too? we can only push the line if we’re short staffed but we also do pretty much the same as the guys as well.

I just switched from fresh to cap 2 this week. I want to like it so much. Its way better than fresh, I can tell you that... but the shifts here go from 2-11 and basically take away the whole day.. then on top of that, idk if its just me, but it just feels so boring and miserable being couped up in the back all day. Maybe its just first week jitters. 🤷‍♂️

@idkwhatever6232
@idkwhatever6232 3 ай бұрын
yoo im a cap 2 associate im wondering what do the TL do all day? to us it mostly seems like they just talk to us and sometimes go to the desk/computer in our backroom. so like how our main goals are truck, unmix remix, etc. what are ur guys main goals that gotta get done each day?
@bobbbanar2158
@bobbbanar2158 3 ай бұрын
@@idkwhatever6232 Speaking for myself, I try to arrive nine minutes (the max without getting half pointed 🙄) before shift start to do a lineup, check call-offs, etc. At 2 we hold the daily huddle, assigning tasks/departments to each associate and going over any notes handed down from salaried management. If we’re able to start the GM unload on time, I’ll spend part of the unload helping work the line, doing one touch and throwing, basically helping the team and being present. If it’s going well, I’ll bounce to the other side of the store and help make sure the remix downstacker(s) have pallets and carts and unload the pallets in a way that allows them to downstack without completely clogging up the backroom. Afterwards, I’ll head to the floor if we have associates working old freight to make sure they’re making progress, working quickly and safely etc. Then I’ll head back to the GM unload and start pulling grocery carts to the staging area closer to the floor so at 9 PM we’re ready to pull to the floor. Somewhere between all that I’ll make sure high ticket paperwork is printed and ready to be checked off after the truck is unloaded. This is usually around the time the FDD truck arrives, so I’ll unload that, sometimes with the help of a Food and Consumables associate, sometimes alone. If need be, I’ll help get freight out of topsteel with the walkie-stacker or grills from lawn and garden with the scissor lift. Once the unload is done, most of the next few hours are verifying that associates are performing their tasks as assigned, assisting with whatever projects are passed down from salaried management, helping work some freight in each area without being bogged down in any given one, helping fill water, finding high ticket freight, cleaning up spills and organizing the backroom so it’s safe to get through until the freight is pulled. In the last two hours of the shift, I pull the remaining remix freight from the trailer while one associate pulls it to the floor and stages it for overnight. Afterwards I’ll grab a jack and help pull GM freight. Lastly, I’ll do claims and finish the night with a walk through the backroom making sure everything was pulled, the trailer is completely empty, swept and locked up, one touch totes are all out on the sales floor and any high ticket freight is locked up. Write an email explaining what was completed, what was left, if anyone went home early/came in late/called off etc., check attendance, my PTO/PPTO balance, possibly do a lineup for the next day, turn in my keys, clock out and go home.

Also how is Walmart for people who have disabilities and are shy and if you let them know it's your 1st job are they easy on you. In terms of being shy of course it takes practice to be less shy when you work at retail it can make you less shy.

I have a question, so I'm going to turn 16 this week, I'm applying early so they could recieve my application early and I'll start to work soon. Although there was something I didn't understand. So you see, I've never had a job, this will be my first one. Do I choose "associate" "supervisor" "entry level?" I have no experience aswell! Please help
