There’s this specific type cast that Disney Channel LOVES that you can see examples of in most of their shows and movies. They almost always have a sarcastic and/or awkward girl with dark hair, who clearly is gorgeous enough to be a model but is “actually” just the quirky “normal girl”. Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverley Place, Austin & Ally, Suite Life On Deck, Sunny With A Chance, Girl Meets World . . . and those are just the examples from the shows that I’ve seen. I don’t even want to try listing all the examples from the movies. The funniest example to me by far is the movie Princess Protection Program, because you can see the one tired trope split into two separate people: the sarcastic high school girl, and the awkward Princess. It felt soooooooo unoriginal. I’d ask Trin to watch that one but I remember that one main villain is an Asian girl just trying to win prom queen and the writing was probably not good and maybe v v racist. Jamie Chung seems cool, and probably deserved better.

Everyone is so hung up on the age difference, but it’s not that big of a deal. They never kissed, they are actors, it happens all the time in movies and he was most likely very respectful since nothing has been said about the movie in that respect.
