Actually we originally thought komodo dragons had toxic bacteria in their mouths which killed their prey often from a single bite on for instance the hock of a buffalo. Recent studies have shown they in fact do have a venomous bite and not the toxic bacteria we had earlier suspected. I hope you will look into this and get the right information out there in another follow up vid

The reason that the lion is considered the king is because it is essentially immune to attacks from other predators of it's family since tigers, panthers, jaguars etc like to go for the neck as a weak spot but they can't do that against a lion because of it's bushy mane being in the way.

I heard from a mythology video that the whole idea of Dragons breathing fire may have actually come from old depictions of the Komodo Dragon. First off, the famous picture of St George slaying the dragon- look at it and see how much it looks like a Komodo Dragon, plus the slaying is said to have happened in a hot and far-off land The firebreathing idea is said to come from subsequent depictions of the creature- artists drew it with its mouth open showing its forked tongue to make it look more ferocious. Other artists later elaborated on it and gave its tongue three forks, then five, then six, and left it looking a lot like a flame. Like any legend, the depiction of the Komodo Dragon got changed and elaborated over time It was drawn by artists who had never even seen the creature before and may have honestly thought it was supposed to be a flame. There is an actual video up here by this dude named Aron Ra, where he actually shows the changing tongue in various medieval pictures. IDK the title of the video but it was really interesting.
@АгнесияКорделияЕкатерина2 жыл бұрын
This new study states that Komodo dragons are like snakes and crocodiles, where Komodo dragons can swim in water, have a tongue to smell, have poison, have thick skin, have large nails and enjoy sunbathing. Komodo between the two, a brutal animal. Even the Komodo Dragon is different from the Monitor Lizard. It was even reported that a tourist from Singapore was bitten on the leg by Komodo Dragons and that was not the only incident.
@themotions59672 жыл бұрын
A lot of “dragon” depictions are also of different animals as well. A lot of tales about later European explorers encountering dragons come from Asia, Africa, Middle East, and a few islands. These continents are home to massive pythons, crocodiles, many large species of monitor, and much more. There were a few of these larger species that went extinct during the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, and even during the earlier medieval periods. And those that didn’t go extinct had much of their ranges drastically reduced. “Dragons” were probably large examples of these species that were driven out for killing livestock and injuring people.

It would intetesting to see what an interaction between the Perentie and Komodo would be like. Who would win the fight and who would be eaten?
@trueking18573 жыл бұрын
Komodo would overpower the perentie the perentie would most likely not get involved and stay away from the dragon
@ghorstbusters62383 жыл бұрын
I thought Komodo was substantially bigger?
@trueking18573 жыл бұрын
@@ghorstbusters6238 an adult Komodo is longer tougher heavier thicker built and would very easily kill any perentie if it came across one.

M8 komodos can hold their ground against lions and sometimes even crocs.What do you think a perenti could do?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@specimenlarry60683 жыл бұрын
A perentie is around 30 pounds while the komodo is around 300 pounds.

Strange that the lizard and the kangaroo are never in a single frame. Makes me wonder if this really happened.
