@@thehippie3610No, they are not a rebound. Though I can see how at the beginning players may fear so. At the end, Gale loves Tav more than he ever did Mystra, and that shows in many ways. He is extremely devoted, because he is finally on an even footing with someone, and Tav fell for him in the lowest point of his life. For one example of many, he may admit to Tav that "To know that you love me for the man I am, and not the magic I command... None have loved me so purely before."

The thing is, Tav's relationship with Gale is a lot more healthy than Mystra's because Mystra didn't actually love him. She loved his magical potential and ambition, as she has with all her previous lovers, but ultimately she didn't care about Gale and he knew it. Tav on the other hand (depending on how you play it anyway) didn't care about Gale's magic, they cared about Gale, and in one certain conversation, he tells you he can tell the difference like night and day. So yeah he's devastated by the break-up, even if he's trying really hard to be Gale about it 😢 Edit: oh, this is pretty much what the previous commenter said 😅
