Hi, good vlog! As a retired carpet layer. Here’s a little advice. When using Stanley knives, sharpen the blades with a sharpening stone. It'll save you a fortune. Also, if you cut your finger, don't use masking tape. Use superglue.

About 10 years ago I converted a RM Convoy crew cab for my brother. The box section was filled with expanding foam after we found the box along the roof section contained the wiring for lights and aux power for internal lighting, we put in rock wool and it didn't stop the wiring rattling inside the section, so we used the foam and problem solved. That roof cladding is the same as I did, and was the hardest part of the build tbh, although we had a skylight and fan to go around.... excellent viewing 👍🏻

Just a tip for people wanting to do the same cladding and not have to pay for 20 slats.. It definitely takes 16 slats to go across a Vivaro and B&Q only do packs of 5 but if you have a local timber merchant (I went to Alsford Timber) they are happy to sell slats singly.

I hate the step on my renault trafic its always full of crap and I like door open if its a light rain so I expect rust at some point. The design of it just so bad you cant just neatly sweep shit out the door it catches and I leave the plastic insert off all the time because of the cleaning schedule. That carpet and glue really gives good results btw.

Yes they’re screwed directly into the metal. I tend to pre drill holes and then just use self tapping screws.
