Watching someone, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, who doesn’t really know what they’re doing, is brilliant. Experienced people always take it for granted that we know the simple stuff, when often we don’t. This is a brilliant guide for people doing their first van. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great van build, Shaun. My wife and I are guilty of being one of your silent subs over the last few months. Think we have been through your entire back catalogue of videos and really enjoyed them. We only live on the Devon/Cornwall border and hugely enjoy seeing you making the most of our little part of the world. Also we share a trying for a baby nightmare with you guys. After 5 years we finally got out happy ending. Really happy/excited for you guys. Keep up the good work. Glad to see your subs going through the roof. Hopefully see you cruising the rurals of the southwest soon. Ben & Vic

Loving the van build, and great to see you working it out (with help from your dad ;-) You need a sticker for the back door - no tools left in this van overnight! Good to see your cheerful thumbs up ... do watch out for the temptation to cut corners with the jigsaw / safety. I'm not great at this but have all digits and only a few scars ... Good luck to you and Kate, I hope all goes well and you adjust to your change in sleep patterns, not to mention the extra responsibility ... I have used expanding foam 'plasterboard' adhesive before - after it not sticking I re-read the instructions - making sure the surfaces were damp, then waiting until the adhesive formed strings was the key ... so if you find unusual instructions on glue, it could be there for a reason! I guess sound deadening needs to be stuck properly to do it's job, so maybe you can get time to drive the van before and after fitting it to make sure it has made it a bit quieter All the best with your build, especially after it becomes a lower priority!

There is no reason to run battens on the floor. In my last 3 vans I just placed 25mm celotex onto the metal floor and laid the T&G flooring on top. I glued the T & G together and the secured it at the sliding side door and back doors and it never moved. Remember that the raised bits of van flooring are closely spaced enough so that the T & G won't sag - 18mm T&G is good for at least 400mm centres.

Fab video once again. For 25mm celotex you can use a sharp kitchen knife - the handsaw and jigsaw have serrated blades so tend to tear the insulation. Similar to the home make sure you have air flow or the dreaded condensation will hit you 😣 Good luck and good luck with the baby too ❤️
