I’d been drinking so at 16:15 I’m like “SPEAK BRO’!” I was noticing the Lava lamp. Being from Hawaii, I always wondered why it was called that because we have two types of Lava. Aa and Pahoehoe. A third type, pillow Lava occurs during under water eruptions. The lamp does not emulate any of those. I always wanted a stack with a head amp but I don’t have the space. This demo makes me want to make some space for one - thanks for another great demo! It helps that you play the same chords throughout so that I can hear the differences. I have a G&L ASAT Deluxe so I also have a “country guitar” that has HB’s. Cool, Lando. Mahalo!

Why most of the amp bloggers they are not considering the cabinet speaker (max watts) they are using for every head amp they are introducing in their blog. FYI amp head + cabinet proper match up is very important to us, so we know exactly the correct type of cabinet speaker max wattage for every amp head model.

Nice Epiphone Les Paul. The cable you called an instrument cable is actually not, it is the “unshielded” head to cabinet cable. The instructions strictly say don’t use a shield “guitar” or instrument cable. Not sure why but maybe something to do with impedance ??? I’m sure I’ve use a guitar cable before on mine.

Good video and the reason that you've never got "that tone before" is that you've never had a Marshall before. el34/84's etc in the power amp is a big part of making the U.S and U.K sound such different animals. I would agree and I fully realize the history of Marshall, I was just saying that you can get a metal sound out of this particular amp, and it is also a low wattage amp that I can use at home. I do not believe that I even made a broad statement about Marshall stating it was a metal amp. I really do not understand how you could have gotten that out of my previous post other. How many guitar players do you know that do not know that Hendrix and Clapton played Marshall's. I really do not like to do this on the internet, but did you make this statement so you could insult me, not cool man.

can you do a gig with this amp? I have the DSL 15c and it's worthless as far as doing a gig is concerned.
@landonbailey6 жыл бұрын
I would say it depends on the speaker(s) it's being fed into and how loud the band is. In most cases it should be fine.
@JosephCee6 жыл бұрын
you think 5 watts more is going to be much better?...if youre going to gig why even look at a 20 watt amp? get the 100.

Nice amp, I’m actually in the market looking for the right Marshall myself. I’m a little hazy on what wattage I should go with though and with Covid I can’t really go hang in an amp shop. That 20 watt seems like it’ll melt your face in a small room but how do you think it would be in a larger room or outdoor even? Thanks in advance 😣
@NoStringsAttached7776 жыл бұрын
I had thought this amp was a smaller size like the Peavey Classic 20MH and it sure looks smaller in your video but I read that it is 19.6" or nearly 500mm wide which makes it a standard head size. Can you please confirm the width of your amp?

Oops I think I may have read the Origin amp size by mistake.Cheers

Great amp! What would you choose for blues? Peavey classic or DSL? And have you tried headphones on both of these amps?
@landonbailey6 жыл бұрын
ya it's great. I think the Peavey Classic is more aimed towards blues. I got the DSL for 70's classic rock stuff. I haven't tried the headphones in either, but on the DSL I did capture some emulated out. I didn't like it

Is there anyż chance that you could try the headphones out? Mostly in peavey. I can't find it in store to try myself, and that is one of the most important features for me...

Can I play this amp at very low volumes? I live in an apartment and people lose their mind if I turn my 100w 1x12 solid state past 2 on the master volume. Would I have to use the 'emulated speaker out' into my monitors to play at lower volumes?
@XanderYTV6 жыл бұрын
Like I'm talking just barely louder than the acoustic sound of my electric

hey there, I wouldn't recommend it for apartment use. It's better turned up
@johnl55854 жыл бұрын
You could use headphones on this head, or low output. There's also the Mesa Boogie CabClone, but this head basically has the same options for outputting without a speaker cabinet, albeit with different connections.
@johne15996 жыл бұрын
All the gain you've been playing with is from the preamp section. I suggest you back the gain knobs down and your guitar's volume knob down, then turn the volume knobs all the way up on the amp. Now work the volume knob on the guitar and see how the amp responds. You should be able to go from clean to dirty using only the guitar's volume knob. Want more or less dirt when you crank up the guitar? Use the amp's Gain knobs to fine tune your dirty sound. Remember, the knobs on the amp are passive, meaning they only turn the wide open amp's sound down. They subtract from that, but never can add more. Bass, treble, mid, volume, gain only can be removed, but never added from the amp's wide open design. The Presence and Resonance shape the power amp section, and arguably add or detract, but they again are merely passive controls. Presence and Resonance settings can greatly affect how and when an amp feeds back or not, gets dirty or stays clean at higher volumes... shaping the output, in other words. Hope that helps more than confuses.
@landonbailey6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely take all recommendations (and criticism) openly as a learning experience :) thanks for the tips! I typically keep the volume knob on the guitar max, but I love trying new things! take care! :)
@johne15996 жыл бұрын
Lando27Music The point was to experience gain created from driving the power tubes hard, a la SRV, EVH, Jimmy Page, etc. A much ballsier sound from the big power tubes and transformer than the small preamp tubes and preamp circuit.

Do you think this and 1x12 is too much for apartment level playing or would it be ok with the volume controls?
@landonbailey6 жыл бұрын
ya it would be way too much. Even at 10 watt it's really loud and better turned up 🙂
