You seem like a really cool Mom by encouraging her to try simple makeup routines and products at her age . I’m 53 now but, in 6th grade my Mom bought me a whole entire facial makeup routine including all different kinds of makeup and cleansers. Some of my friends were jealous because they weren’t allowed to wear makeup. My daughter has been a very minimalist makeup person…even now at 26.

I was literally shopping for my 11 year old when this video popped up! I am currently two minutes in, and so much yes to what you said about shopping for kiddos this age. This has been my biggest struggle as well and I'm glad that I started shopping sooner than I typically do, so that I can be more intentional with what I gift her for Christmas.

This was great, Megan. It was like you were reading my daughters Christmas list 😂. Good thing I just have one. Skin care, Apple products, and Taylor Swift merch. It was so much easier when it was Barbie's. I agree with you on the Sol De Janeiro price. My daughter does have these, but she just had a birthday in October, so they were gifted, or she had gift cards. Kinsley will love all of this. That’s a great idea! I’ll definitely update! Kinsley’s birthday is this week and I plan to suggest that she use her birthday money to get the sol de janiero if she really wants it. I do that sometimes to gauge if my kids are actually interested in something or if they just want it because they saw someone else with it. 😅 if she really wants it then she won’t hesitate to spend her own money 😊

My daughters are grown. Probably older than you. But I do have a lot of grandkids to buy for. I bought some Ugg’s for my oldest granddaughter when she was younger. She was the only one at the time. Now I have six more. She wore those boots for a lot of years. They weren’t cheap back then. She’s 26 now. It’s great you are starting her on sunscreen now. I’ve worn it for years. I wish I could get my husband to wear it. He keeps getting precancerous things taken off his face at the dermatologist. I don’t think I was allowed to wear makeup until at least seventh or eighth grade. And now I’m 65 and just don’t wear it at all. I know your daughter will be thrilled with her gifts. I love the Laneige berry flavored lip mask every night. I have a seven year old granddaughter who is a diva. I haven’t asked what she wants for Christmas this year. I’m not sure if they will come here for Christmas or be in Ohio. They used to live close by. They moved to Ohio last year. But her mom is ready to come back to Georgia. She doesn’t like Ohio weather. It’s great you encourage reading. I love to read. My husband does not. Someday you can buy her a Kindle or I read on my Amazon Fire tablet. Which is way less expensive. And I have a Kindle Unlimited. And you can get a lot of books free. I would get the whole family a tablet and you can probably share the Kindle Unlimited. I think it’s like $9.99 a month. Your daughter is going to have a great Christmas. She’s going to love all the things you got her. Who wouldn’t? I asked my husband for a gold necklace this year. I got diamond studs last year. So I need a new necklace this year. I have a middle schooler who is a boy. I don’t know what he wants. Knowing him probably money. Which we may give him. Then his gift is done.

I don't know what I would have done back in the 80's. My kids were playing on electronic games in the 80's & then as they got older, the pagers came in. We didn't buy them they had them where they each worked! But I'm sure she's at the age where she wants one. Maybe she already has one, which is fine. I think in some ways it is good. Kids usually don’t stand in their individualism at 10 It’s a nice concept and in high school they will do just that but young kids want to fit in with their peers. That’s a fact they want friends and believe me girls will look at what other girls have if it’s a common interest. Great gifts by the way. She’ll love them.

I disagree 😊 both of my children are confident as individuals with their own personal interests. That doesn’t mean they don’t ever feel influence from their peers…but we try to encourage a healthy balance of both in our household 🤗

Her pediatrician strongly recommended we enroll her in kindergarten when she was only 4, so we tested her in. She has consistently performed well above her age range in standardized academic testing. Her current reading comprehension testing reflects that she is above a 12th grade reading level. Kins is very gifted. ☺️
