I'm glad you tell us honestly how they really taste. A lot of recipes out there are always like "they taste like the real thing!" and then I make it and it's not similar at all.
@BobRooney2902 жыл бұрын
this is why i dont compromise when it comes to certain food, like donuts. i just cant. if i'm going to have a donut, it has to be the real thing. i'll trek to Peter Pan Donuts in Greenpoint Brooklyn NYC. literally nothing, and i mean NOTHING is comparable. krispy creme and dunkin are a sugar infested joke compared to this mom and pop shop. i'll get on my bike, pedal for an hour to get there, buy 2 donuts, eat one there with coffee, then pedal back. i would have likely burned off the calories of the first one, and i'll save the 2nd one for the next morning. what makes these special is that they use wayyyy less sugar the the chain donut shops.

I love that you are completely honest about whether or not the recipes really taste like the "real" full-carb deal. I wish more keto cooking/baking channels would be honest about it, but unfortunately a vast majority of them seem to fib quite a lot about it. I don't know if they're trying to fool themselves or fool the viewers but they just aren't being honest when they say it tastes just like the real thing. The dishonesty bugs me when I've gotten all excited and bought the ingredients for a small fortune and three hours baking, and then.. it comes out tasting nothing like what I was promised. Oftentimes they taste good in their own rights, but please, keto KZbin cooks and bakers, stop saying it's "just like the real thing" if it isn't.

@@twinklestar4814 Sorry, you can reverse NON insulin (or insulin) dependant TYPE 2 diabetes (Food related) with Keto/low carb (My A1C was 8.2 and in 6 months it went to 5.4. Lots of anecdotal evidence out there). This individual will ALWAYS require insulin so it wont get rid of her diabetes. Low carb diets are ok BUT it is difficult to manage for TYPE 1 diabetics. Type 1 diabetes produces ZERO insulin. Type 2 (either insulin or non insulin dependant) diabetics produce SOME insulin but the insulin we produce is resistant to the glucose we have in our systems. Reducing the amount of carbs we take will reduce the amount of glucose in our systems which in turn allows insulin to become less resistant to glucose. Type 1 diabetes is mostly juvenile onset and families with young children who are type 1 have a very difficult time managing the HIGHS and especially the LOWS of type 1. Keto diets for type 1 would be difficult to manage due to lower volumes of carbs. Listen to Dr. Jason Fung, he will educate you on Keto/Low carb especially in Type 1 people. kzbin.info

@@twinklestar4814 A keto diet will not get rid of T1 diabetes. It may help with T2 diabetes but T1 is an autoimmune disorder. Your body is attacking your pancreas and simply changing your diet will not stop that.

Love your videos - it doesn't hurt that you're so easy on the eyes either. Just wanted to mention a tip - when baking with empty wells (in a muffin tin or anything like it), add a tbsp of water to each of the empty ones to keep the pan from warping over time. Though you think it would make things soggy, the steam can actually cause a bit of crisping on the top (that's how they get French bread so crispy on the outside).

My daddy always said modern eggs were so much more fragile than the ones from years ago - and he was right. The shells are thinner and the yolks are light yellow. The “expensive” cage free, etc eggs are tastier and have much thicker and harder shells. From a chicken’s point of view, thicker shells means more likely the chicks will hatch.
@stevendorsey48823 жыл бұрын
I am blessed with my own flock of laying hens and can attest to what your daddy said. Store bought eggs are so anemic compared to the fresh eggs we get from our hens every day, with sturdy shells, deep yellow yolks, and a much better taste.

Have a great tip for you if you ever need to soften something ie butter, cream cheese esp bc sometimes you need it softened not melty or partially melty from the microwave. Heat a glass Pyrex measuring cup half with water til boiling in the microwave then dump the water and flip it over a little bowl with you butter/cream cheese in it. Let sit for 5-10 min. I like to actually put the little bowl on a pot holder so it creates more of a seal under the measuring cup but you can even just put the cup over your butter on a plate.

Hi! What about doing a waffle battle trying out the new recipes in the keto community? #chaffle #paffle #cauliwaffle

I made a waffle version of the Cinnamon Donuts recipe All I did was sub out the almond flour with Carbquick 1:1 and it came out waaayyy better than I expected. Pretty perfect actually. I recommend using a waffle as the bread for absolutely killer peanut butter and sugar free jelly sandwich.

There"s an idea for a battle! Tried & true keto recipes made with eggs vs made with egg substitutes like chia seeds bloomed in water, or flaxseed meal. What about aqua faba?
