I’ve made these and I agree they are fantastic. I know EVERYONE had their OWN lil tweak to these but here’s my two cents worth. I heard McDonald’s uses beef tallow to fry their fries so I replaced one of the tablespoons of water with a tablespoon of BEEF BROTH. I think it REALLY makes them taste more like fries. I do prefer the coconut flour ones but after experimenting A LOT you have to cut the coconut ones thinner. I’m soooo glad you tried these! I make a BIG batch and freeze them, that way I can have ready to go fries whenever I want! You can also make AWESOME crackers with this recipe! These make the lowest carb & best crackers I’ve tried. I add a lil ranch or everything but bagel seasoning.

I made the Heavenly Fan coconut flour fries tonight with the suggested addition of 1/3 cup fresh finely grated parmesan courtesy of Mayra of Keto Love. Then fried them crisply and they were as close to regular fries as we could imagine. I'll try the almond flour version next. Try the coconut version again with a little salt and parmesan and see how you like it.
@cindymoore88483 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Since they’re sticky prior to cooking, I wonder about making “seasoned fries” and rolling them in a seasoned crumb mixture (pork rinds/nutritional yeast/ and “shaky cheese” aka green can parmesan, plus some herbs/spices) before cooking. Yum. When I used to make traditional fried chicken I always fried extra clumps of seasoned flour because that was my favorite part. Lol

So glad you posted this..was looking forward to see your reaction to the taste test 😁 I made the version using almond flour and they were “heavenly”. I don’t own a rolling pin (lol) so I hand pressed the dough and perhaps it wasn’t as thin as her recipe called for, and used the fine ground almond flour. I found that they tasted more potato-ey, like a slightly thicker traditional fry and not overly crunchy. Still tasted fabulous with sugar-free ketchup and Cajun seasoning... I saw someone post that instead of cutting them into “fries” that they added some garlic powder and Italian seasoning and left it rectangle for a “garlic bread”. I want to try this!

In the air fryer they puff up so leave a lot of space around each one. They are great with some added sweetener, then coated in sweetener with cinnamon!!!

I was just about to ask about using air fryer, how long and at what tempreature did you fry them? many thanks
@marciaricksgers20183 жыл бұрын
@@joannaparszyk I honestly don’t remember, but it was a higher temp and maybe 15 minutes. Keep checking them and you can turn them over every so often. They were like dessert!!

10.39 "I don't know how I might have gotten a 3-ingredient recipe wrong, but leave it to me, I'd probably be the one to do it" 😂😂 Wes, I managed to mess up a TWO ingredient recipe recently 😂

I’ve added cauliflower rice to the mix and have made awesome caulitots.

I needed 2 pieces of parchment paper to roll it out too! They were great! I haven't tried the coconut flour ones yet.

I put mine in a zip lock bag. Pressed out to the edges all around. Into freezer. Cut open bag & slice into strips to mimic fries. Fry away same time... Oh so yummy

Yessss.. I have loved her videos. When I saw her do these my mind was blown. So glad you gave her credit, I noticed others did not. I love you sweetie, your face when you taste the food makes me get off my bottom and run to the kitchen..lol ❤️🙏🏻

OMG will never have veggie fries again. I went on her website and praised her for bringing this recipe to our tables! And kudos to you for supporting her! I made the almond flour and they were the perfect addition to my veggie burger for lunch! Having slipped from LC over the holidays, this seemed to get me back where I need to be. All that crap I ate from T-day to Christmas gave me the worst heartburn I've experienced in years!! Keep the videos coming!!! Need the battles in our kitchens, not elsewhere!

Should have done the chips variation while you were doing this. Interesting results! We preferred the coconut flour version.

How do you do the chip version? Is there a video on that?
Thank you for doing this! I'm so curious. I wanted to warn everyone to check their xantham gum, I made the dough for this and then looked at the nutrional info on mine and it was going to be 7 net carbs, and that's before the almond or coconut flour. I'd also suggest using beef stock instead of water - I know mcdonalds uses beef to flavor their fries.

I find a good mix by adding one Tbsp of ccnut flour to the almond flour mix. Also, if you fold in the sides of a piece of parchment to cover the dough, you can roll a rectangle really easily. It helps to use the parchment on a roll and cut your own size. Also, Parmesean cheese (1Tbsp) adds a nice flavor and crispiness. Adjust water as needed. Love your vids!

I'm not a big ketchup on my fries type of guy, but these are a whole lot better with ketchup than without. The mayo dip in Heavenly Fan's video is pretty good too!

Just watched your video, immediately made the almond version. AMAZING!!!!
