Fruit is a naturally sweet treat. But fruit contains carbohydrates. If you are on a low carb or keto diet, too much fruit could put the brakes on fat loss. In this video, I share the carb content of different fruits and sort them for you, so you know which ones are the most low-carb friendly and which ones to avoid.

Thank you! Dr. Becky this was great help for me,knowing which fruit is high. I eat a lot of blackberries, I put blueberries in my smoothie's I love strawberries, and raspberries so this helps me out when I need something SWEET!!! I sometimesI have a piece of 95% CACOA choc, bar which gives me, as I say, the odd treat then I don't feel so deprived of everything. This really seems to work ok. for me. I feel it's better than going with a big munchy choc. bar. You and your husband are such a great help to me! Timely as I will be going on a road trip tomorrow and hitting a fav fruit stand. Yes....portion size but on a hot day on the river...I am a magician in regards to making a watermelon disappear and so...I do not get them anymore due to the fructose and liver connection. Also..I hear often important with strawberries Organic or wash the heck out of them-Enjoyed the video-Portion size is maybe a guy thing as I smiled about how long an apple may last you. For me...I need watermelon apples. If I had to pick one....good ol Blackberries....the little wild ones are ripe Now. Fiber and nicely Organic.

Is there a carb / macro calculator app you suggest? I prefer one that I can enter grams in ... it seems more accurate, and it's easy to do. We grow berries and melons. I'm so surprised that 100g of melon is pretty comparable to berries!! I'm no stranger to low carb eating, but I never bothered to check the carbs of melons because I just assumed it was way high. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Now I'll enjoy a little more often this summer :)

Thank you Dr Becky! I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast, with banana, spinach, fruit (berries & or apples) and flaxseed. I didn't realize bananas are so high in carb😲
@krisztinaschneider2561
@krisztinaschneider2561 3 жыл бұрын
And your smoothie gets into your bloodstream much faster to create a wonderful insulin spike. Your spinach is loaded with oxalate, and unwanted clotting factors. Fructose is only broken down by the liver and fructose is another culprit of non alcoholic fatty liver problems. And you won't lose weight, but feel hungry in an hour. Just saying. Who needs fruit anyway!? Oh 🤣 vitamin...sure. Eat a keto carnivore diet. OMAD / TMAD. No counting carbs. Highly recommend Dr Robert Cywes' channel instead of this soft spoken magician.

I do the exact same thing with my apples! What I also do is I slice them and keep them in a Tupperware container with paper towel in between and that paper towel is soaked with lemon juice. I can have a sliced apple last for a week in my fridge with no browning at all! I have a few slices almost every day in the afternoon with a tablespoon of nut butter just to get me through till dinner. I never really eat the entire apple in one day but a few slices with a nut butter is a great snack and apples are also great for the digestion I find!
