So glad the holidays are over. I prefer my low carb eating. I did not enjoy cooking treats to cover the holidays. I love Christmas. But I no longer find traditional foods a reward! And to think low carb is like a salmon fighting against the stream! GOD HAVE MERCY.

I need to chew more! I like to eat my food while it’s still hot/warm. With a ceiling fan overhead, I race to finish before it gets cold. However, now that I am aware of this, I will slow down, regardless!

Oh that’s relief to know that I can drink black coffee and tea. I started my 3 days water only fasting today and I just had tea before watching the video. Thanks

Your video just appeared on my subscribed feed. I do have a question though. You mention the “digestion slow down”. If I switch to following this diet, can constipation become a problem because of the digestion slowing down? What will prevent it? I’m not just preparing meals for myself (71), but also for my husband who is much older (15+yrs) and goes into distress if he doesn’t substantially eliminate himself daily and “on schedule”. Thank you for addressing a natural way to achieve a diet to side-step the use of “Ozempic” drugs.

The heat and cold therapy is a waste of time take the same amount of minutes and run around the block and you’ll get far better benefits

Hi Dr. Becky, I do pretty well on a low carb, high fat and moderate protein diet. I'm lean, exercise, and OMAD seems to work best. I am wondering if I may need to eat more carbs like lentils, beans and sweet potatoes to fill me up. Even though I provide a huge salad, and solid low carb dinner, I often seem to need to add a bowl of almond milk yogurt and berries after dinner. I end up grazing on nuts and seeds and often my weight is fluctuating and I have worked really hard to get down 30 pounds to my desired, healthy weight. Thoughts?

Trimona Yogurt! My favorite! Also White Mountain, which comes in glass but it's not necessarily grass fed.

While I was watching this video, I did some movements, that I remember from watching KZbin workouts 😊 or sometimes folding my laundry and putting them away.

Is it true that the fat in olive and the protein in a piece of cheese help slow down glucose absorption?

I hope black tea counts! I’ll do the extra water, I do HIIT exercise 2-3 times a week. Have to remember to stop caffeine by 2 pm, or I can’t get to sleep! Thanks for the practical and doable list.

My blood test about 2 years ago after being ill following a particular medicine, showed that I had a serious issue that needed emergency antibiotics, but also showed that I was pre-diabetic. The doctor also scheduled a chest x-ray and considered an ECG. I started watching your videos about reducing blood glucose and changed the timing of when I ate to intermittent fasting. I also started my own spreadsheet by taking the data of macros from the packaging of common foods I eat and then each day entering the weight of the foods I am eating. Not only did I understand more about foods and the protein, fats and carbs with total calories, but with a glucose test in the mornings I could check my blood glucose which I also logged and produced a graph. My glucose after 3 months started to stabilise and came under control and is now always at 100 (it could be lower I know) and I have lost 10kgs in weight and feel much more healthy so far. Now I need to move more, walk and exercise, which I did not dare to do before due to what was mentioned earlier. Logging and monitoring helps to self educate, about foods and also how your body reacts and to understand your own macros daily. We should be learning this stuff at school, not when we are 72 years old.

My hot tub is my friend. Also love sauna. Enjoy a cold plunge. Hate cold showers, but can tolerate on my legs which is beneficial for circulation. All in for increased protein and avoiding carbs. Can’t do caffeine, it kills my sleep.

I would not suggest adding lean meats. Fatty red meats have *plenty* of protein.
