KZbinrs always have a completely wrong impression of what „low elo“ is. Platinum is not low Elo.Less than 15% make it into Platinum or higher. The majority of the player base is in Silver or below, making silver mid-Elo. Bronze and Iron are true low Elo. Calling everything low Elo is exactly why people get frustrated with being stuck in their rank. If you’re in silver, you’re an average player and that’s ok. Not everyone can be above average especially when you haven’t been playing 8h a day since season 2.

Ca. 65% of players are silver or lower. Silver is literally mid-Elo. His definition of “low Elo” starts in top silver, which is already above average. Calling Platinum “low Elo” when less than 15% of players are in Platinum or higher is just complete nonsense, unless your ambition is to become a pro, but most people have a life besides LoL and that’s a good thing.

This was really helpful, especially the part that explains what areas to deny vision and what areas ideal for having vision around objectives. Also, I think Riot should add a change where once your support item gets 500 gold quest and you recall, it switches your trinket automatically to sweeper. I sometimes forget to change it and it's so annoying having to take an awkward recall or walking back to change it.

That ward wouldnt have saved her, the furthest she wouldve gotten before dying would be the 1st brush of bot. That ward is good from preventing sneaky ganks with blast cone/river ganks. Doesnt do much if youre pushed that far, you would need atleast a tribush ward, deep ward or just be more aware on where to stop greeding for the wave. Regardless, if Im not mistaken janna was trying to freeze the wave thats why caitlyn was keeping in on the aggression to not loose even without getting ganked.

Like, I am sure this vid gets better but at 1:35 when Thresh and Caitlyn are pushed to second tower, Thresh does make the mistake of engaging enemy minions before they clash with allied minions because minions agro on him and follow to wall. Now he is surrounded by minions, but then Cait then stands in minions too even though she is long range. Not only that. She positions pretty much right behind Thresh, who is surrounded with enemy minions in front, allied minions on side, wall on other side, and ADC right behind him. I don't know if cait had anyways but someone should have ward somewhere around cruggs, and cait could have stagger stepped from where Thresh was, auto enemy champ once pulled enemy minions to middle of lane, drop at least one trap where Thresh was standing, and give him one ping and they could have repositioned. As badly as Thresh played there, Cait played just as bad if not worse. In my personal experience, low elo ADCs think bot lane is a farm lane where they stand in the middle of lane and support will fix all their mistakes. Not that supps don't make mistakes, but silver and lower dont know how to position. Legit told a friend that the other day. "Anyone can play adc. You just need to stand in the right spot." Aka, if adc stands in bush on top of Senna as she autos for sickle, you are just baiting your Senna and shouldn't play ranked anymore. Specially if you are lurking in a bush as an Ez and you have reliable getaway. Idk. Call me salty. But this was a lame recommendation on KZbin's part for a first of your videos. I will have to check the others out. But I will finish this first.

It's much better to keep execute stack for cannon minion, both in terms of gold/quest efficiency and lane management making shove/countering show. Unless You are pushing lane, support should use execute as a last hit tool. Also almost never should a stack be used it on ranged minion.

another mistake for those looking to improve is at 6:40, the swain used his trinket, AND hit plant. if you are going to hit plant, you are going to see the enemy wards, dont wast trinket. the worst mistake he made imo, other than not being at drag, is that swain didnt even use the plant to effectively get vision, the enemy jg has a camp that appears to be up, that being krugs. it is way more valuable to have plant scout out krugs for your team; you then have awareness on jg positioning, camps, and you allow your team and your jungler to potentially set up more plays

Can i also add? as a support main who also plays adc sometimes, supports tend to steal minions and canons from the adc, just wanna say as a support, don't. Unless your adc is recalling you can farm and push. Just something that is a pet peeve of mine, it's sometimes not really that nice if you steal your adc's minions or even kills, unless it was done unintentional.

For any of u adc mains out there, would you consider this trolling? - Support killing minions when they are under your tower and you are either dead or have recalled (note u wont mange to get down there before they are all dead). Secondly would this count as trolling, you attack minions when you are there but not killing them, just lowering them enough for you to auto them off? The reason im asking this is when im not playing with my friends many complain to me cuz i do these 2 stuff when im support and that i shouldnt. I understand stealing minions is trolling but im not sometimes i even get comment on cuz i have 2 cs or 10 cs which i got when i was fighting the other champs.

If nobody else can get a minion, sure go for it - especially in that "under turret"case. Attacking minions with Your ADC on lane is more problematic as better players can manage lane CSing on their own while You are destroying lane balance. There are only few specific situations when You want to help Your ADC in this: 1. After You get gank/kill/force enemies to recall. Then try to push as fast as You can to the enemy turret to deny exp/gold from them. 2. When Your champion has skill that can benefit from auto-attacks on minions (very rare case on support champions). 2. When You are getting pushed and there is Dragon spawning soon/already alive - You want to push a bit to help cover Your jungler if need be and create vision behind the pit for reasons stated in the guide above.

If supports are there to giveout more vision around the whole map - so jungle included - what is the junglers job? Just ... clearing it? Seems kinda unfair if you ask me. So basically supp is like being a god (but you always get of course an erruption of hate from the whole team if you make one mistake) I watch all this to get better but I sometimes feel like it‘s just the whole map being rested on supp‘s shoulder. Right now I've listened to about 10 guide videos in a row across various youtubers and literally nobody gives tips on lategame supporting. Everything is about laning phase or roaming or vision in early to midgame. For me personally biggest problems start after laning phase and especially lategame as thats where the game feels like a flip. Would be nice if some expert made guides on that

Don't really agree with the lvl 2 advantage because as support you cant do anything with a lvl 2 advantage if your adc doesnt help and that happens 90% of the time. However i do walk up and ping my adc to engage but if he doesnt respond and keeps farming i just retreat behind my minions or in brush

Maybe I'm just having trouble with the math here, if you happen to be in the top 10% of players (Platinum), you're better than 80% of players and there are ALOT of people who play this game, therefore, you would not be low elo. There are also 4 elos under you and 4 above you, it would be mid elo if anything. But this toxic ass community seems to think that unless you're going to LCS you shouldn't be proud of your skill and accomplishments

I hear you mate. Max I ever reached has been Plat. Point is they're talking about the things that divide low and high. I understand that as a support, though let's say that you might think that you're not expected to be a monster at mechanical skills (it's just an example), since there's so much else to pay attention to, although sometimes, despite being somewhat good at map awareness, predictions, warding (highly related to map awareness/memory) - which surely would make you a kind of bright lone soul when compared to other equal-ranked supps - you lack that mechanical side, which means, you somewhat get when a skill's been used, but it's still hard for you (and for sure it is, loads of info at the same time) to react properly, whether defensively or pro-actively knowing your own and theirs limits. I had the opportunity to play as a sup with a very, very high elo friendly adc once - I was like "Please, forgive me if I make mistakes...", and he, like, "chill babey, we've already won". Still he added me (for a limited time), made me watch the match again and pointed out a few things I was missing and/or needed to improve, including lack of mechanical skills on my own champ (which I thought I was already good enough at.. haha) - which I kindly and thankfully accepted, I mean, so much constructive info that really mattered! And I noticed that, while sups love complaing about their tunnelvisioned-ish (low-elo!) ADCs - IMO it's a fair complaint, - I've been left with the impression that as the elo goes higher, awareness tends to be more or less equalized among the team (at least it should, right?), as he, on the other hand, had such a vision amplitude that compared to him, I felt like I was somewhat blind (or dumb?) I would say that, jsut doing what the others at you level do isn't ever enough, you must be better than them, same way you were (I know high pro stuff never prizes anyone for it, but hey, it's still at least something) able to climb up to gold or plat, for instance. Maybe you won't skyrocket and cross the next threshold instantly, but I'm pretty that if you keep up at it, sooner or later "low elo" will be but a memory. Another thing I'd like to word here (sorry for such wall of text) is that sometimes, we (I at least?) feel bullied when some top players play or watch our matches and comment that that or this one is trolling and stuff, as on our side we're like "Frak that, I'm not trolling, I'm trying my best, maybe I'm jsut not that good? But... ... ..." Point is that once you've crossed a threshold, there's no way to go back to the previous state, there are many facts you now are aware of, and it may be even impossible to ignore them. As an exemple, even Silvers laugh when watching Iron matches and that frak-a-ton misuse of flash. Think about it. ;) Ps. Btw, I'm aware that chances are what I typed above is already common knowledge to you, but who knows whether any other soul passes by and it adds up something for them? :)

Let's say that i want to start ranking, the main reason why is teamates, for example i had a match where i was thresh support and my adc didn't know to farm, how should i improve when my adc is rushing them with 2/8 and 53 cs on enemy adc with 7/2 with 100 cs, as a support i have to go with defensive stats for teamates and helping them when needed and placing vision, i've got this problem everytime when playing ranked as a support, if im solo in a lane, like top, i can push freeze, zone and ward when i feel is needed and help when is require, or when to split push, i can't do that as a support when my adc is doing bad things

the problem with these guides is simple. much of the suggested play is based on what intelligent and calculated players would do. "if this happens that means they're about to do this". this simply cannot be relied on in an actual game. it just doesn't happen like that. people do crazy shit in random ques across mostly all the ranks so these strats are theory crafting at best.

I used to know (in season 2-6) pathing and strengths of all major Junglers (I used to play a CV Support to make jungler's life a living nightmare)... but that is because Jungle was pretty dangerous and, to an extent, predictable. Nowadays? It's such a clusterfuck I just don't even bother. Everything can jungle and there is so many combinations that it is entirely possible to run into an enemy jungler who just didn't get the memo that it's a split map. People barely understand their own champions (and now even items) let alone compositions. In laning Phase I just play safe Island and then cap off vision around currently realistical objectives. I basically gave up on Ranked for a few years. The game has just grown so big and unpredictible that my 900 IQ prediction plays can't work because neither side knows what the fuck are they doing. "Oh he started top so he will most likely be pathing bottom... why the fuck is lvl. 3 jungling Pantheon Proxying our toplane?!"

yea that twitch and blitz clip blitz made no mistake he backed off when his cooldowns were down and the jhin he hooks flashed away also after hooking jhin twitch auto'd swain for some random reason then proceeded to walk ina a 2v2 chasing after the jhin that flashed away who he wasnt focusing in the first place... thats more twitch making a lot of mistakes than blitz maybe not the best clip to bring your point across

If league was a game about playing perfectly at all times that would've been a bad clip to show, but that's not what league is about, especially at low elo. A big part of the game is anticipating when your teammates (or the enemy) are about to do something stupid, and following up on that to take advantage of the situation. If blitz tanks a few shots there, he and twitch could kite out the swain and probably get a kill on swain's overchase, but instead the blitz was probably thinking what you were 'god my adc is such a piece of shit' and leaving him to get 1-for-0'd.

I mean you can take flay and hook level1 Hook is mostly good against ranged supports where youd take too much damage if you just walked up and flayed and flay is much better in melee vs melee matchups because you do more damage with your passive auto, its easier to land for aftershock and you can disengage the enemies off your adc. I recommend flay against alistar. Low elo supports will walk up for their support item stacks even if they lose the level1 hard so you can e him and slap him back under tower because he cant do shit to you.

okay...i have a question. i am very new to the game and i like to play nami, obviously all her abilities depend on mana. i was playing today with a jinx and my mana was really low (early game) so i couldn’t really use my abilities without waiting a long time in between so i pinged my low mana and returned to fountain to recharge and get an item while i was at it. while i’m there the jinx dies and i apologise saying i needed to recharge my mana. the jinx just said no you didn’t and spent the rest of the game nitpicking all my mistakes, calling me a baby, and telling me to just listen cuz i clearly can’t think for myself. i prolly got a bit overly frustrated by this and wasn’t playing my best... but it made me wonder... is recharging mana a bad thing? i guess i coulda just sat there trying to wait for it to recharge and just healing jinx whenever i could... but it felt like it wouldn’t be getting much value out of my abilities without being able to cast more than one ability every 30 seconds or so and thus getting no combos or putting us both at risk. i’m guessing i did the wrong thing but what should i have done instead?

sometimes threatening to use abilities, using more auto attacks to poke and being wiser when using abilities makes mana way more efficient. so, you just gotta use it better. going base is most strategic in getting wards and your itens

If this is presumably the average low gold support player then this gives me hope I can make gold some day. I play very much the same (sometimes), and even (again, sometimes) better on some of these aspects, particularly level 2 engages, especially as a Pyke main. And with this video here very blatantly pointing out the exact same mistakes I make as someone currently in Silver 4.. this gives me hope. Hope i can more quickly learn from these and become an even better support

Post video edit: I'd say the only facet that I CONSISTENTLY perform very well in, and shockingly better than all the players shown in this video is my vision control / vision score. especially when i play as pyke thanks to his ability to easily roam and how his build consists of Umbrial. I still think I have room for improvement but I definitely have pretty spot on warding most of the time. Just gotta get better at macro play and late game, and properly abusing laning phase mistakes tbh.....

Swain was a horrible first example. None of his abilities can be blocked by Blitzcrank. You want to actually be behind your teammate to block his return E root if you want to block it. Though you should only move into that position after E is first sent out to catch it at most. You can also grab Zombie Ward so that your sweeping creates vision. Or Ghost Poro so your vision lasts longer.

In that second clip with the blitz and twitch, while the blitz could’ve helped the twitch, the twitch was definitely playing way too risky being in swain e range at that health. Sometimes you gotta learn to not int yourself for an adc that’s just gonna doe of their own positioning
