Hey Tim. Like you I watched the Berlin marathon on Sunday and had the privilege of watching it live of course with only an hour time difference here in the uk. I ran it myself in 2015 and it’s an experience I will never forget and watching this years runners make their way around the course I was able to picture myself at those very spots 9 years ago. I often say it’s the best run I’ve had in my 15 year running career. A day when everything just fell into place and I felt like I could just run forever. Berlin is a unique course and set up for record breaking. It’s dead flat and maybe just an optical illusion but it felt like you are running very slightly down hill all the way which made the running effortless. I remember at the finish line feeling elated but sad also that it was over because I was enjoying myself out there so much which is definitely not a feeling I’ve had at any other of my marathons! I hope you get the chance to run it yourself soon and at the same time visit one of the worlds great capitals. Thanks for sharing your workout with us today and I look forward to the next. Ian 🇬🇧

It's definitely a historic marathon. The Berlin Marathon has seen some dramatic changes over it's 50 Year history starting from it's humble begins with less than 300 runners to the World Major event that it is today. Have a great weekend.

I wish I was going to be able to meet you at Chicago 2024, just about to start my 10day taper for that. I also managed to get my Boston 2025 bib, where my 8:36min buffer held up. Hopefully you can get back to running this winter and slowly build back up!

Hey Tim. Congrats on getting into Boston! That's awesome. You will have an amazing time. Yes I'm disappointed about Chicago and the 2024 season. It happens. I'll have to build back much slower and be more intentional in my training. I'm okay with sacrificing a little time and a few races to get healthy again and build back up. I'm definitely looking forward to 2025. Have fun in Chicago. That's a fun one to do. Thanks for all of your support. I greatly appreciate it.
