Well, it would probably produce a nicer slur - but a REALLY small octave! Ha!

Wow! Was looking for something to help with this excerpt and this is wonderful! My daughter (16 years old) gets her first opportunity to play with our local Symphony next week and she's Horn 7 which also includes this excerpt. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You've been a big help.

I really like the low register of the french horn. I would rather focus more on that than the high range.
