I watched this a year ago trying to better understand My protections Under VAWA , I searched and searched bc it was so hard to find any info that was not related to VAWA and immigration until I found this video , I’ve done so much research on this subject and this guys video has been the most helpful and clear on the subject matter , I even went on to successfully obtain housing after learning my rights , so if you’re looking to get educated on your VAWA protections I advise you start here !

Thank you. I am going through this right now. I am now homeless, with absolutely nothing. With no access to any of my personal belongings, vehicle, money... no where to go. No family to help. And still being harassed/abused. I was under the belief that there was no help for someone like me. I dont have children with me. Thank you for the information. Its given me tremendous hope.

I called the police three separate times they treated me like I was a gold digger. They said "Well why do you even want to stay here with someone who doesn't want you here" I told him my husband had locked me out of the home and all my things in my animals were there. They asked me to cooperate and leave. They said they could make me leave cuz it was my legal residence, I've been homeless for about a year. My husband still has all my belongings. I am a disabled veteran with a brain injury. Nobody that I've gone to for help is help to me. I'm not sure who to ask for help anymore.

I have not applied for vawa due to financial reasons as I am the only one working, my husband just received section 8. However section 8 stated since I’m not a citizen I am not eligible however I have to pay my portion. I am going on maternity leave and they said they can’t help me. I’m considering going to a shelter with my children

Im in a dv relationship physically, mentally and emotionally. I am new on the voucher and told my case worker about it bc i needed help to get away. I asked for emergency port to another state because i was scared to found but they gave me a lot of push back and finally said they could port me to the town over (which im thinking about it now that if they was able to make the exception for me to be ported to another county then im sure they couldve made the exception for another state under the circumstances) which i was still very concerned because i told them it was still too close and i was afraid he would still find me. Ive been here since June 1 and he has already found me about 2 wks ago.. so now im right back in a horrible situation. So im trying to get in contact with my case worker and im hoping to be ported to another state. Would vawa help with that? I dont want to move to another local area, i have kids and i need to know we're safe and stable. Either way im moving out of state but im hoping to be to take my voucher. This man is very dangerous so i have to plan another quiet escape.

See the thing is is what about the fact that if we think that nobody really is going to be helping there's a reason for that, which causes you to focus on that enough because that is obviously true to you as well so when is this and who is it that is covering for these things. Many people even the ones that are like myself. And what I mean by that is when giving up and just accepting that because what other option nobody has cared before and you can just be worn out for trying to grasp and scream for help and just be only useful enough to assist things like a housing program non-profit thing and somehow there's these different things that they can word it as and and be confusing to us and and where there's no advocacy paper trail because documentation wasn't done and get money was being spent and all along I'm desperately saying please we can we do this and and just asking what I understood was where I went for this help and if not why would that have been offered in the first place how could that be so dramaticallyand so right up in the public and and how many people don't speak up and that's relied on to the point where someone like myself who cannot refrain cannot even stop myself from this even how you see I type it's a very good example of how the effects of cptsd OCD and that's just only two examples and they all overlap in some way shape or form okay and I so beyond my wit's end but the extreme trauma that my thoughts go to is what about other people that are that this is happening to if I don't say anything if I don't risk people just discarding me and at least being at least there's going to be one eventually one will not look away and then it will become another one even if I don't see it for myself in this life I'm okay with that as long as someone does

Do they care if most of the abuse happened a long time ago...like child molestation and then physically sexually abused and raped to pregnancy. I mean, my son is now a college student but my brain is sick. Most recently abused while working, cut in my face by a male barber in 2018. Im just hanging on by a thread. Is there any help for someone like me?
