I had this 2 times and 2 times wrong oil filter even though i bought it from the dealer. It seems my car has with the same engine it has 2 variants of oil filters. Mine is a 316D euro6 from 2015

How long should oil stay in that housing? Mine is all gone overnight. Like valve is not holding oil at 100% because when I put little oil there it stays there but eventualy drains out.

What housing are you asking about? The oil filter housing? Cause the oil shouldn't stay in that housing it will drain through the filter into the engine. MRT

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials I have instaled new housing and now oil stays in there.. There is a non return valce in housing and the old one was not perfect so oil eventualy drain out slowly. With new one if srays in fhere so no more wairing for proper oil pressure on first start.

@@DR-pb9rx I have the same problem. My oil pressure light comes on for the first time, only when the car has been sitting for more than 8 hours now when it's cold outside.. The engine is N47D20C

How do you remove the cap though, is it removable by hand or you gotta use a tool?

Hello, my 530d e60, after the oil change, sometimes with working temperature, it puts low oil pressure when braking to zero and when I remove the filter cover I see that the o-ring at the tip is smaller, that could be the problem ?

Hi, would the low oil pressure warning show up when you start the engine or would the car need to get upto operating temperature for the warning to show up?

Oil filter incorrectly fitted by the main dealers in Liverpool, it went in for an egr recall and tthey told me they did not change the oil or filter! After some investigation they admitted they did.

@@alanfoley2007 Mate, garages are so dodgy it is unreal. I got my car serviced ( oil filter change) and I've had the problem since. Took it to another garage and they said everything was installed properly, charged me 400 for another oil and filter change and solenoid replacement and the problem is still there. Guess next i have to pay another 500 for them to look at the sump.

Do you think it will give that WARNING if the car hasn't had an oil change in a while, and running an OLD or clogged / dirty filter ?!

Hi , after oil change I had same problem oil pressure low red warning light. Makes 5x during 2000km , 4x by hard breaking. Oil enough , oil pressure sensors new , oil was bit low about 0.5l so I put in extra. Filter when I changed stays in not went out with plastic gap. Could make it oil pressure to low warning ? N57 4.0d thanks e70

BMW is good for that. I have e 61 530d 2005 own 9-years, and i have repair all kind off stuff that machine. It have been really painfull to own that car, engine it self and chassis is good and driving abilities but all other have been misery. That is my last BMW, i dont even think to own newer BMW. Sorry for bad English, but greetings from Finland.

I also had a 2007 e61. That was also the worst bmw I have owned. The newer cars are much much more reliable. I am now on my 13th BMW
