I'm wondering what kind of results you would get running one of those in a deep sump tank or pond powered by an aircompressor with a lot of displacement in the cylinder.

this is really nice for a 6-watt pump. I guess we can use this pump for aquaponics with pvc pipe grow beds. thanks for sharing this idea

Would this move more water faster with a stronger air pump

Did you ever find a consistent ration of depth, diameter pipe & air displacement to output? That's a considerable amount of work for a 6W pump. You could run that on a small Solar Cell

***** Yes, this simple pump moves a lot of water with low power. I'm going to use it in an off-grid greywater treatment setup. I think *you* should experiment with it and find the best combo of parameters ;)

Sweet, I hope you do a vid on how it turns out. I'm thinking ebb & flow aquaponic setup using bell siphon to control water delivery & gravity drainage. The only concern I've got with this is if my sump will be deep enough, but as you stated, experimentation will be the key.

Hello Instinct. I have not been able to find the next geyser pump you were going to put up on u tube. That is the one where you cited a 150mm one instead of the compact one in video 3 of 3. Can you help me? regards Gary

Add a check valve?

if you have more than one air line going into the pump could you shorten the time between each pulse?

about your biggest pipe, is that 3 inch pipe? do you have guide on how to make one? I am planning to make one. Thanks!
@Designedbyinstinct10 жыл бұрын
Angelo Ramos Yes, it was 3" pipe. I was going to use 6" next time to give lots of room in the 'chamber'.Would make install of inner pipe really easy.
@OrganikoFilipinoFarm10 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Do you have a step by step guide on making this pump? :)
@Designedbyinstinct10 жыл бұрын
Angelo Ramos Not yet. I'll try to do one with the 6" pipe as main chamber. No idea of when I'll get to it. Just watch the video carefully and pause where needed. It's a very simple pump to build.

Do you have any thoughts on max lift from ground level or top of the barrel? Thanks
@Designedbyinstinct8 жыл бұрын
I got it to go up 6 feet from top of barrel with a little more air pressure.

Great thanks!

i was wondering if you put some check valves in line would it be able to raise the water to a higher level such as pulling from a well. Just wondering if anyone has tried this. I am sure i would have to have a larger air compressor to do this but before spending the money i was wondering if someone had tried this at say 100 feet.

my observation; when you tested the big pump at the bottom...holding it down with the orange rod...you got a big surge...seems to me...not sure because I haven't tested...that it the distance under water is proportional to the pipe standing out of the water...try different length under water as well as above water...you may get different performance...just a thought...thanks for the information...very educational...continue to march...!!!

That pump was designed by Heron of Alexandria 3000 + years ago. It was one of several types of pumps the hero of Alexandria had developed. And the truth is he probably didn't invent it but is credited for it. It was described in in one of the few obscure books left from the Great Library of Alexandria before the destruction and loss. Just because someone pat. something doesn't mean it did not exist before. How low have vegetables been around? Someone decided to apply for patent on a Jalapeno the naturally occurs and received the patent... did he have the right? Mankind rediscovers things everyday and claims we just invented it. People act as though we have been stupid until today. when it was only yesterday we were stupid and today we fool our selves about our stupidity. That crap really ticks me off .
