And what did your doctor tell you about treating Hashimoto ?
@lorimullen3680
@lorimullen3680 6 ай бұрын
The antibody tests show when Hashimotos is present. When your blood has the antibodies present that shows the proof of the autoimmune disease. Hashimoto is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the thyroid gland. I am learning all of this, too, after 17 years of painful symptoms!

There are so many of us who have thyroid issues and/or Hashimotos. I am in Canada,and due to research and the multiple groups I belong I have discovered there are many many of us who are not treated,tested, monitored,medicated well or listened to very well by our doctors. I wish doctors were trained better in regards to all the testing involved, not just testing and treating by TSH. This is a huge issue, and many cannot find proper care, and/or have to pay for private functional doctors, in order to get proper care,if not some of us are completely out of luck and are kept improperly medicated and feeling ill.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 35 years ago and it took about 30 years to get my Hashimotos diagnosis. I never even heard of Hashimotos until my holistic doctor mentioned it and sent me for an ultrasound of my thyroid gland and did all these tests that you mentioned. I have had a dozen different pill pusher MDs over the years testing my thyroid and treat my symptoms. They never tested beyond TSH & T4, even if I asked them for more testing. And not one of them told me that I have an autoimmune disease. Not until I had found a holistic doctor was I tested & treated properly. Dr. Berry, I appreciate your holistic approach to health and your honesty. If I lived closer I would definitely love to meet with you if you are still practicing. I'm in the same boat. I get it! I just found a functional doctor who is helping me but it's been a 30 year process. Lots of them just give you a pill and say take it for the rest of your life. I just lived with my symptoms and that was my normal. I blamed it on other life things so it's been an awakening to myself. No one spoke about food ever. My Hashimotos diagnosis came 30 years late but I'm glad to hear what's happening because at least can get a plan of action going. I quit sugar, grains, alcohol, and found out I'm allergic to tomatoes, pistachios, gluten, eggs, dairy, and hemp. I wish I would have known about in my 20's.

My thyroid was 3.5 one year and 1.2 the next. I was told normal. I have every exact symptom. I have been having recurrent miscarriages now so here I go back to investigating myself and I ordered my own lab tests that came out to 300$ instead of seeing a doctor. I get them drawn Tuesday. Symptoms: chronic fatigue, dizziness, heart palpitations, unable to concentrate, sleeping 8-10 hours and still being exhausted, forgetting where I am and what I’m doing or even someone’s name that I’ve met, life feels “dull”, headaches, sparse eyebrows, receding hair line, face is dull even with lotion, hands and feet get cold even in the heat, hoarse scratchy throat like I always have a cold, feeling like things get stuck in my throat, hypoglycemia and needing sugar otherwise I feel I will pass out, puffy face that caused a permanent glabellar line within a month, anxiety, depression, and joint pain.

Thirty five years ago, I had an issue, (because of a birth defect,) that led to the loss of my colon and eventually the loss of 6 foot of my small bowel. I also have had a pyloriplasty during to severe scaring from an ulcer. I have had hypothroidism for several years, but have suspected, (as a nurse,) that It is because am suffering from malnutrition because of 35 years of uncontrolled diarrhea that they are just really now startling to get a handle on. I am 79 and have about every symptom you named. At this point my hair is falling out, my nails are disgusting, my ears ring so loud I have trouble hearing at times. I have been on Gabapentin for 13 years for neuropathy they don't know the cause of and have osteoporosis. I could go on but, even with seeing the Doc every 3 months, I think I have been sl-o-o-wly starving to death for years, and even with all these problems, I keep telling them that, and they just don't get it. I am now on 8 different meds and still miserable with many of the other symptoms mentioned. Thanks to your video, I will now double and triple my efforts on my own behalf and we shall see what happens.

This is what happened to me. My first checks of TSH + T4 were okay, but I was strongly believing that all my symptoms - and there were too many to just ignore, and my both sisters had hypothyroidism already diagnosed - was clearly pointing to hyphothyroidism. The first time I tried a really tiny dose of Levothyroxine was really an eye-opening experience. It's the most important medicine now in my life, improving the quality of my life by a light years.

This is exactly what I've been trying to figure out. I was at my doctor's office recently for symptoms of chronic fatigue, and had blood work done. Shortly after that, I came across the symptoms for Hashimoto's (along with your wife's videos), and I'm convinced that's what I'm dealing with! When I messaged my doctor to ask for testing, I got a "we just checked your TSH levels, and they were fine" response. I need as much info as possible before my appt on Monday. Thank you!!

I was watching youtube without searching for specific thing. And i saw somenthing like ketogenic diet and fasting from some rondom videos,and here you were sir.. i watch some of your videos about keto...ketovore...and carnivire diet. So from that day i start my jorney with first keto/16/8 fasting for 3 weeks,than i start with ketovore/18/6 fasting,then when i saw i was getting huge results i start with carnivore/ omad fasting. Now we are at the end of september of 2022,and i lost 40 lbs,plus my blood sugar is 89 from 420.and my blood preasure is 117/72 from 159/110. So i call my own dr.and she kind took pause when i explaind her how i change my health... so i don't take simnavastastin,glisipide,metformine,and the thyroid meds anymore. Thank you dr. Berry...now everynight i do my walks i listen to your youtube videos. I love the chicken liver and all those beautiful on budget steaks,and eggs everyday,of course once a day. I don't spend money on those high protain,or supliments. I get what i need from PROPER HUMAN DIET. And i get my my elecrolite by putting pink salt under my toung every morning. Thank you dr. Berry. I went and got my thyroid labs drawn today because Ive been feeling like I’ve been going downhill and I also noticed that for the past few months I’ve been taking less dosage than the bottle tells me to. It says take 90mcg 4 times a week then a pill and a half the other 3 days. He called and left a voicemail and said my TSH looked good and no need to change dose but I wasn’t taking the dose I was supposed to be taking in the first place? And he didn’t mention free T3 or free T4 either. They didn’t even check my T4. I called and asked them to after I left the lab when the lady told me they were only drawing TSH and free T3. I feel really off and I’m shocked that he said it was fine. I’m having bad mood swings and hot flashes and irritability, headaches and weakness. But my levels are fine? No way. I’ve been dealing with this for 12 years. I know better.

I can't remember if it was here or another channel, but this was a suggestion for when you get that response. Politely tell them ”Then record in my medical record that I requested these tests and you chose not to order them." This will generally cause them to order the tests to avoid liability. Also, bringing in documentation to educate your physician about how the symptoms relate to yours and why fewer tests are insufficient can help. Dr Berry usually has links to this info in his show notes. This time he doesn't seem to have links to studies though.

By the time TSH and T4 gets abnormal it is already too late to help your thyroid. I fight my doctors by paying the extra test and show them the results with "I told you so Doc, but you don't believe me". Thank you Doctor .Around 2009 I was found to have Lymes disease. The private Doctor in the UK suggested I ask my GP to test my thyroid. The TSH and T4 were I believe in range. I went for a private scan and was advised that I did have inflammation/nodules and in the radiographers experience, I would need treatment in around 7 years. The last 2 years everything has gone haywire and I have really lengthy flare ups, and I can actually feel a lump on my thyroid. It is very easy to feel. With my pushing they tested again, TSH and T4 and TPO. ( they did the TPO under duress)TPO’S were high but they said not not to worry as my TSH was normal I have been to the doctors so many times in the last year and not once has the GP palpated my thyroid gland or suggested a scan. I have just about every single symptom of hypothyroid. They don’t believe I don't overeat. And put everything down to being in my head I think. I even have microglossia permanently and evidenced by my old GP from years ago. I also have developed permanent high Liver enzymes ( I am tea total) and now something is attacking all my joints. ( not RA- they actually ruled that out) I am now worried the autoimmune has effected other areas. Even an NHS endocrinologist wrote to me to basically say they wouldn't treat me. My BMR is 1375, when I’m not in huge flare up, I train 4.-5 times a week , walk everywhere and have only been eating 1200 cals a day ( cutting carbs) yet for the last 8 weeks my weight has gone up by around 2lbs per week. This week I have cut my calories more although all my training , research and common sense indicate that this is not the correct path. I,like many are being left to suffer. I think they are trying to pin it on fibromyalgia yet after research, although there are a few overlaps, the symptoms don’t really fit. I will now look at the other video

My Kaiser doctor REFUSES to test anything beyond TSH. Says he will not order anything that's not "clinically indicated" as its "not necessary" and can be "invasive." It really frustrates me that they like to play God with my health. I'm a grown woman and a CUSTOMER paying for these tests and should be able to get them done without having to "back door" this simple procedure.

That is why I started going to a private lab and just ordering my own labs and then bringing the results in to discuss. My Dr didn't seem to concerned about them so I told him I was feeling cold and didn't have any energy and I suggested we move my dosage up one level to get my free T4 and T3 up off the bottom level of the parameters to get me feeling better. It worked. I went to "Any lab test now" they have a lot of locations in my area, there was one about 5 blocks from my house in Everett.

There is a simple way to find that out. Put some iodine on your skin. After 24 ohrs check it out. If the color is disappeard you are deficient and have low thyroid and that's why your body absorbed it. If the color is still on your skin you don't have defiency in iodin and don't have low thyroid. Thyroid issues can be heald due dietary changing as GAPS diet, carnivore diet or keto.

I am Definitely going through this and you are right this is what I’m battling . I just had all the tests you said and 😢. I have reverse T 3 at 16.. On Armour NDT. Now was diagnosed with hashimoto. He just said your thyroid is in range but my antibodies are climbing. They went from 3.1 to 4.3 in a month. I have so many symptoms. I’m asking him to just put me on T3 to see how I feel! To flush out the reverse T3 and possibly bring down my antibodies. My TSH is 1 .4 my T 4 is 1.00 my T 3 is 2.9. Please Dr. Berry what do you think! I’m on a clean diet no gluten no diary. Eat grassfed meat organic. I’m very on edge in pain shortening of breath I’m 70 I just found you and your wife since this happened. About 6 weeks or more ago. There is much more to my story and Armour thyroid. I have been on Armour for 12 years and the endocrinologist in California took me off of it for a few days and lowered the dose. I was super depressed at that time and having some symptoms. My pituitary was not working it took 3 months to straighten out! That was 3 years ago. Now I’m diagnosed with Hashimoto and I feel so terrible. My primary care Dr is treating my thyroid not an endocrinologist. Because the endocrinologist wanted me on Synthroid and that’s when I went into severe hypothyroidism. HELP

I have over 23 under active thyroid symptoms, I gained 4st in 6months I knew this wasn’t normal, went to my dr who just did one blood test & said I was fine, I said I couldn’t be fine as I know my body & there are more tests for under active thyroid than the one that she gave me, she ignored me & said if I’d had hypothyroidism for over 6months it would have shown in my bloods & recommended weight watchers even though I’d already shown her my my Fitbit readout that I was burning over double the calories I took in a day by eating a healthy piscaterian diet (I don’t eat sugar or processed food or junk food/cakes/sweets) walking 11miles a day & exercising (on days I wasn’t too exhausted to get out of bed) so how the hell would weight watchers help? She basically ignored me and my 6months b4 & after pics, I don’t think she believed me & thought me a over eating hypochondriac…. I went on dieting & gained another stone so was then 5st overweight & frustrated as hell, then tried the carnivore diet and lost 12lb in 6 weeks but stuck at that, I’m sure I have hypothyroidism but GP is ignoring my pleas for medical help when I had over 23 signs of having it plus early menopause, gallstones, itchy toes, and 1/3 of eyebrows gone which I’ve just found out are indicators. It’s so frustrating my local surgery only seems interested in helping you if you want a covid injection or covid booster injection, not any other medical problems.

Do you know that KETO diet lowers T3 pretty substantially? After 6 months on keto i went from 62% of t3 range to 19% of the range. I do not loose weight. I it a lot until i am full. 2 times a day, usually 16/8. I feel great, lots of energy and i can go and go without stopping. However, my wife has hashimotos and hypothyrioidism and she is on keto since june and now no doctor can tell how to analyze her lab tests simply because there are no normal ranges for people on keto and no one every researched keto for hypothyroid patients. So, she just checked how she feels. That's basically now the only way. How is your T3 doing?

I was able to do the TSH, Free T3, Free T4, and TPOABs through Thorne, but not the other tests. My results all said normal but I still can’t lose weight and hair is falling out. My doc will only do the standard TSH + Free T4. He says the rest are unnecessary even though Humana covers them all. I got him to add the TPO-Ab but he said the treatment is still going to be the same - levothyroxin. Humana covers Amour Thyroid but he said I don't need it. I wanted the Free T3 so I found that Any Labs Now does the TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 for $99. The Reverse T3 test is $129 by itself. I'll try and submit the receipts to Humana and see what they do.

My internist wanted to test my Free T4 and TSh. I asked about T3 and he said that test is of no importance. I went to get my bloodwork done and they said they couldnt do free T4 but just regular T4. Wth??? Ive been tested 3 times and my Tsh was high twice and normal once. My T4 was normal. Im not sure what my T4 was last time. The internist is referring me to a rheumotologist. I wish they would also send me to an endocrinologist as well. I had issues years ago and saw one years ago before this dr. Ive had prolactin issues and i was told i have empty sella syndrome with my old dr. I wish they would check my pituitary gland again. All i know is im so sick and almost bed bound. My dr did say she might put me on low dose thyroid med. Nothing but a shit show. I feel like im dying a slow death. I would love to bring that list to them but im sure i would get laughed at. So keto + IF for last 30 months and up until maybe a month ago, felt awesome. It was the trip to the ER last on April 28th that woke me up - onset afib with high TSH. Here I am questioning if keto caused afib and if maybe dumping table salt 30 months ago for PHS and sea salt might have given me an iodine deficiency. Once I see the cardiologist on the 12th my doctor will check my thyroid. TSH last June was just outside the range, 4.27, but TSH now is 9.65. Free T4 was normal. But of course, meaningless together.

@patrickdezenzio4988 Hi. This is interesting! What caused your afib you think? Only asking because I was diagnosed with afib almost a year ago, 45 years old… and that was AFTER i lost 28 pounds.. I did one meal a day for a long period and probably lacked some nutrients along the way. I did OMAD for about 4 months and probably didn’t take as much supplements as I probably should’ve in that period. Magnesium, potassium etc. I ended up with persistant Afib…😢 Maybe it was some thyroid related problems that got me Afib.. Idk🤷🏻‍♂️but I do have a few symptoms of it.. What did you find out for yourself? Was it the thyroid that caused Afib you think? Have a Nice day👍

What's the point of blood work if I don't have a doctor that will give me anything, if needed. My hrt doctor told me that even if I got a thyroid panel she wouldn't give me anything. Said t3 is dangerous and their clinic doesn't deal with it. So I have no one to give the blood work to. I don't have much money to go to doctors being unemployed right now.
