I think literally the only part about LTG's on-camera antics being an 'act', is how tough he tries to be. Take all the times he tries starting shit with a specific player he doesn't like. Many of them have challenged him to real-life boxing matches, and he's ducked them on every occasion. And on the rare moon where he gets to put his money where his shark-toothed mouth is for a fighting game, he's had his face and his soul kicked in, on every single match he's ever participated in. EVO, The Challenger, local tourneys, you name it. So really, the act is two-fold - he's not the tough guy he pretends to be, and he's lightyears away from being a pro at fighting games. If he invited some friends over for a couch tourney, yeah he'd probably cook them convincingly since he knows frame data and gimmicks. If he had any real fundamentals, he'd have a tournament record to boast. Sponsors are willing to put up with a PR risk if the player is actually known for winning, but all he's known for is losing at the times he needed to succeed the most. So yeah, I don't think any of his 'theatrics' is an act - neither does Hollywood, incidentally. This geriatric is also a failed actor. I laugh at him too, but not because I think he knows how to be funny.

I agree with this. Maybe the jail should equal the disconnection rate or something to that effect. The account ID hits the server and it bounces back with a DC number that can only match with other players of the same number "maybe" with a 1-2% margin of error. And like you said, in order to get out of jail, you have to a) not plug while at the same time b) get a certain number of wins. Continue to plug and the number increases along with the number of wins to get out of jail. Throw in an auto demotion because why not? Leave us zero percenters alone.

The jail idea seems ok but I would do it a different way. I would give them a 10 game rank up penalty and I would have the penalty increase each time that person ragequits afterwards (for example 10, 20, 40, 60,100, etc). Basically the rank up penalty would allow quiters to play ranked while only allowing them to rank down for the length of the penalty. I would do it this way because it is essentially what they are doing to others when they ragequit. They are giving their opponents the ability to lose points but not win points, so in my opinion this would be the best fix.

This "prison" system exists in SF6. If you rage quit too much you'll get an yellow card and from what I understand if you have a yellow card you'll only get matchups agains aother yellow cards. If you rage quit while you have an Yellow card you'll get a Red card. I don't know how Red card works but it's either you'll only face red cards for a long time or you cannot play ranked anymore.

I have also reached Diamond 1 with 3 different characters even though I have just made my FT10. Whats crazy is i kind of agree with LTG here. I dont think rage quitting is bad enough to warrent a permanent ban and would much rather just have them lose points. Namco skipping the most obvious punishment and going right to the nuclear option is quite frankly insane. Rage quitting isnt exactly "cheating" just extremely unsportsmanlike. They do it to protect their points, so as punishment get rid of their points no matter what and give the remaining player a win, everyone is happy. This whole idea that lawsuits are coming for lightly punishing rage quitters is weird when they will go nuclear on the most extreme cases only is awful.

Disconnecting in any game is unsportsmanlike, but when there's literally no penalty to plugging, Tekken is cultivating an environment where you are literally rewarded for - you guessed it, cheating. He's artificially raising his rank to a threshold that doesn't reflect his actual skill level. I think if he had a money match with anyone in Blue, first to five, he'd be losing both his money and his rank at the speed of whiplash. I agree with everything else though. It's really odd that Harada's team would skip the more reasonable and effective means of keeping players honest. They exist in other games, and have kept the reputations of said games mostly rather pristine. Naturally they haven't had any legal problems yet, either. It's really hard to put my finger on what kind of strategy they've been trying to use, or what precedent they're trying to set with a situation that was laughably avoidable.

Dota 2 does something similar to a "jail" you get put into low priority, which means you have to win a set amount of matches. Thing is you're more or less in a gulag. Because you are matched with others in that same situation. No one is allowed to leave the match or it doesn't count.

In Dark Souls you get put into a softban if you cheat where the servers only allow you to interact with other cheaters. In Ds2 it was permanent per account, in Ds3 it was for a week and a half. Fighting you way out of something like that in Tekken would be funny.

The simplest way to get rid of plugging is make it that they lose a complete rank!!! Now obviously you can’t do this if somebody just has one day a bad Internet (it happens) but it disconnected matches should be tracked. If it shows that somebody is consistently doing it on separate days, then they should be given a warning going forward that each time they disconnect they will lose a complete rank. After 20 complete matches it can be lifted but if they go back to it it just becomes permanent. One thing I completely agree with this guy is he pays for the product and this corporation is telling him he can’t use it. Also let pluckers play against plugers simple as that

@@MauZangetsu As far as I’m concerned and normal adults are he paid for the product. If Namco wants to ban him from using the product he paid for they should have to refund his money. Like I said there are ways to go about dealing with this correctly. Telling somebody that they can’t access something they paid for should be illegal. He should just lose ranks every time he quits and be put into a matches with people that also quit. (At the end of the day it is a video game it’s not that important)

Best way is to give points to the player who didn't RQ, I legit don't care if my opponent is 3 ranks higher than they should I will just take the easy points. Give them a time out penalty after plugging some times.

About the jail thing. I think that is fair, but what about internet problems? Some countries don't have good connection, and it can't keep it when playing against someone far away, or sometimes it just disconnect because the provider is that bad. My brother got banned for 2 years from a game because our internet is bad. And it wasn't even like 3 games in a row. It was 3 games in different days. I think all that is too harsh, not because of people pluggers, but because the game don't know if you disconnected because of quiting or connection lost

Nah if you quit too many missions in a short time frame you get sent to bad sport, i got thrown in once for running my friend the cayo perico heist like 25 times over before

What you are suggesting is the lighter version of the K.I. ranked system fix for rage quitters. Rage quitters go down into a rage quit hell where they only get to play against other rage quitters until they complete a ceratin number of matches! that dude is outta control - that said (just adding to the conversation) once I lost power during an MK11 match (I think a breaker tripped or somethin, this was years ago) & when I logged back on I was suspended for 24hrs. That's crazy lol some companies are way too harsh, I've *never* rage quit, like just take the L. I remember once I quit out of a different game (can't even remember what it was) because a match was hung-up (it was like 2 mins it was wild) & the same thing happened lol I have killer internet too so it wasn't a me thing fwiw again this guy is obviously a plugger, not defending him at all, just sayin they gotta figure out a better standard, it should log how many disconnects you have or somethin right?

I actually love that most people I connect and play with either have a 0 or 1% disconnection rating. I also love that most people in the community including always want the rematch either out of respect or just to learn. I’m new to Tekken and I gotta say the community is top tier among other fighting game communities.
