Is your boiler Ideal Vogue Gen 2 Boiler saying it has low water pressure?
This video will show you what you need to do to increase the pressure on the boiler.
There are 2 blue levers underneath the righthand side of the boiler. These both control the flow of cold water into the heating side of the boiler.
By operating these blue lever valves it will top up the pressure to your Idea Vogue Gen 2 Boiler

Thanks for this great video. When doing this, do I really need to open a valve in the radiators to bleed them, or can I just do what you've done in the video and get it back up to 1.5 bar?

Hi Vicky, Thanks for the comment. Only really need to top the pressure up as and when it's needed really. If it's dropping regularly (daily/weekly) then it's possible there is an underlying issue (leak on the system, expansion vessel issue etc). A couple times a year isn't usually a problem. Hope this helps, difficult to explain through comments as every system is different etc.

How do I decrease the pressure? At present, pressure is sitting at just over 2 bar with system in off position....when I turned it on, it increased to 2.5/3 bar. Very helpful and clear video thank you.
@dpjplumbing
@dpjplumbing Жыл бұрын
His Chris, Thanks for the comment about the video being helpful. I plan to do a video on how to remove some pressure from the heating system as I've had a few comments asking about it. But I'll try and explain several different methods: 1. Perhaps the easiest method is to open a radiator bleed and catch the water in a cup/jug. But it may take a little while to get the pressure to drop enough down to 1-1.5bar. 2. Heating drain off point. This is usually where people attach a hose to the heating system to drain it down for maintenance/repairs etc. But there is always the possibility that the rubber inside the drain off cock is in bad condition. 3. Some boilers have drain off points built into them underneath but on this particular boiler make and model I can't remember off the top of my head. Hope this helps, Merry Christmas Dan DPJ Plumbing Heating and Gas

@@dpjplumbing Good evening Dan and thank you for you're reply which again was clear and helpful. I looked into this issue myself and what I did was release pressure via the Filter Valve ( bucket in hand of course ) it worked and our boilers pressure is at just under 1 bar when idle & 1.5 when working. All the best for next year & onwards.

One of the blue taps not turning for some reason, though I'm sure I did refill it like a few months ago. Not sure if I should apply force or not...
@dpjplumbing
@dpjplumbing 23 минут бұрын
Hi, It's difficult to give you a straight answer as I can't see what's going on myself. I do know that the levers/valves can be difficult to turn because of limescale/mineral deposits. Sometimes they do just require a little extra force/leverage. Cheers, Dan

@dpjplumbing
@dpjplumbing Ай бұрын
They do seem to go stiff when not used for a while. I wouldn't bother with WD-40 as it'll be the the inside part which is stiff. But I would use some pliers to get that little bit more leverage. Usually they will loosen after the initial use. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Dan

Showing low pressure but the pressure is at 1.5bar, what could the issue be, iv also bled all the radiators and put pressure back to 1.5bar
@dpjplumbing
@dpjplumbing 6 ай бұрын
If it's showing low pressure on the digital display, it could be a faulty digital pressure sensor inside the boiler. I've not changed one on the ideal boilers but on vaillant and glowworm it's very common issue, especially if the system is dirty. But I've know them to clog up on relatively clean systems
