Thank you so much for this fine introduction to installing a Pazon Ign. I have recently bought a 68 Triumph that wasn't holding idle and by watching this I found that it was just too far advanced, once I corrected this it is now running nice and smooth. Who ever owned this bike before me and installed a Pazon Ign didn't know how to fine set it at the end with the timing light, made a world of difference. You have a customer and student for life. Really appreciate all the time you have put into these educational videos. They are truly wonderful, wish they would have been around when I was a kid, but in those days computers were something out of science fiction and the most advanced type of video education was the black and white TV set hahahhaa.......

Adding to my earlier comment regarding my stuck in the wrong position magnet for the Pazon ignition. I used a slide hammer on the m8 bolt that threads into the centre of the magnet. Very easy. I used the two finger puller on the head of the m8 bolt. The timing is done now and it is perfect.

Thanks for the great detail here. I have been stumbling around trying to decide which IE to purchase for my 1978 Bonneville. You made my mind up for me, Pazon sure spark and a pair of Tri-Spark 6V coils on order for my T140E. Gonna use your video as reference.

@@lowbrowcustoms Spent a wet day in the garage today fitting the Pazon. Re-watched your video last night just to boost my confidence a little. Apart from my T140E being +ve earth, I followed your guide. One observation: On my bike the coils are located to the rear of the battery under the seat. I had to get a little inventive on placement of the Pazon Module to enable the ignition trigger wires (Y/B & B/W) to reach their intended terminals. The hardest part of the whole job was removing the old Auto Advance Unit, but some gentle heat combined with an improvised slide hammer tool broke its 44 year old grip. On the bright side, the bike fired up 2nd kick, which it hasn't ever done before. Just need to tidy the wiring up a touch and then strobe-time the ignition tomorrow. Thanks again for a great video.

Todd, thank you for this. I just finished watching the Lunmad version and it's comforting to see the info in sync. I may end up with Pazon but it has the boyer on it now. Just need to check it out. See if it's viable. Mine is a 1971 TR6C motor on an old '63 Tiger frame with a springer front end. The way you thoroughly covered this subject will keep me coming back to Lowbrow for lessons and parts like that Antigravity Battery, for instance.

Thank you!!!! You are an awesome teacher! Helped lots. My motorcycle used to have retarded timing of about 2 degrees with the points, probably cuz it kicked back on me once and f"@"ked up my foot. lol Now with the EI I have a good spark, all test readings are good except for zener diode that I haven't tested (another thing to learn). Tried to start it and no go, ordered a modern regulator/rectifier so I can eliminate the zener diode and rect. Will see if this works. It coudn't be because my timing is still retarded 2 degrees, shouldn't be hard to start.

You are correct a 12 V dual lead coil can be used as long as it is in the 4 -4.5 Ohm range no jumper wire needed ,and no condensers are needed with the Pazon system

Hey Todd, do you ever wire the motorcycle with a Lucas Capacitor, instead of a battery? Everything is the same pretty much, except there was a zener diode, in place of the voltage regulator. The Capacitor in place of the battery. I had a 71' BSA 650 back in the day wired like that! Too bad that transistors we're not invented yet, back then!
@ThePostalbiker3 жыл бұрын
just curious.. if someone doesnt have the right primary cover or access to one, do you or anyone else make a tool for it? like a bar with a pointer on it that attaches with a few screws and spacers that will put the pointer at the same spot it would be with the cover? id not, you should design one - possibly even have the pointer relocatable for different makes / years

So, there's no need to remove the alignment pin in the camshaft ?? My rotor keeps slipping. It's like my rotor has the incorrect taper, or the rotor is hitting the alignment pin. I can see 1 narrow "witness mark" on the rotor where it's grabbing the cam taper. It's not grabbing the entire taper. I had to shorten the rotor bolt that came with my kit because it was too long. It wasn't allowing the rotor to fully seat. I'm having all sorts of issues! 😂 Although, I bought the cheaper Sparx ignition kit.
