@@gatheringleaves Yeah, which itself was built on its prior season addition of tails listening to nonstop shitty pop songs as part of his temporary egocentric persona. Even though that was mainly a season 4 gimmick, the character traits accumulate through the show and it’s interesting to see that nothing is ever really forgotten from the main characters’ perspectives. As much as the show jokes about being irreverent with continuity or consistency, its characters actually are pretty self consistent.

Tails says he barely drinks, but I remember in the first season that he said he had an issue with beer. Sonic being Sonic took him to drinking anyway. And the bartender guy gave Sonic and Tails the bar. Why would he rebuild it again if it isn't his anymore? I have a theory that these slight changes point to time travel which I guess is sort of confirmed by Old Man Sonic warning Tails in the first episode.
