Great review mate, side hip pocket note : I plan to put my flip phone (foldable clam shell type) into that space. Special Note: 15mins / 5 secs> mate I'd have a belly too with yummy greek food (halimoui 😋 Suvlah, baklavah, mug-a-run-yah, etc) so dont sweat it, I have a belly too from the hot summers here in Australia drinking way to much Mythos Beers!

Happy to have found your real world review and the accompanying video from the field. You addressed many of the questions I had myself about this backpack. Thank you. I hope you are well.

You should have gotten the lowepro Whistler 450 instead!!!!

That is a different style, that didn't feel like it was going to be what I needed. I ended up getting a Shimoda Action x50 and another Shimoda explorer V2 25l for day to day hikes

The Whistler is amazing man. Really comfortable, Really big and exactly offering all that you criticized on the Flip Side. I don't like Shimoda. These bags are expensive and the carrying system feels not right for my back. Lowepro is actually really good in designing backpacks which don't fatigue you. Today I checked out a Mindshift. Good quality, but the carrying system was so bad and uncomfortable.

Excelente review. Felicitaciones. Mi duda es el tamaño porque no me gustan las mochilas muy grandes, por lo que creo que me decantaré finalmente por el tamaño intermedio AW 350

I have the 350, and the 450, and have the same opinion about the room for non-photographic gear. Here in the UK we can almost never go hiking without carrying full waterproofs, gloves, hats, warm jackets etc, and emergency equipment if we are in the mountains, neither bag has anything like enough space for that kind of stuff. It seems to me that styling took priority over functionality for the design. I have also bought the Powder 500 to solve this problem, but haven't tried it out yet. With the Flipsides and the Powder 500, I'm not sure why they didn't put a pocket on the inside of the access flap like on the m-Trekker BP150. I sometimes think Lowepro designers don't bother to review existing designs when embarking on a new one. All that said, yes the build quality is good, and you can carry enough stuff for summer lowland day hikes. Just about.

I just tried the powder 500 and i can definitely fit a lot more. One thing I'm already missing is internal pockets with zippers. Too early to talk, but during my first hike I missed a secure inside pocket for keys, Allan keys and so on. Not a big deal, I can buy an organizer, but I would've loved to have built in options. I don't think they don't review what's around, but maybe they are stuck in their ideas. However... The alternative options are way too pricey for my taste. I was looking at both f-stop or shimoda, but I'm not ready to spend almost twice as much

I can visualize it to be perfect all seasons, day-long hiking camera bag in Canada. In winters, late fall, and early spring I am wearing everything that I need to wear. The only things I need to carry in this bag would be hand and feet warmers, ice cleats, eating goodies, butt rest, etc. In other seasons, yes I need my rain coat, rain pants or a poncho, plus water sandals, butt rest, and eating goodies. I can visualize that this bag will be able to carry the stuff.

I have been working on the powder 500 review, I hope I'll be able to push that out soon. Well after being in Lapland this winter I can only confirm that I wouldn't have made it with the flip side 450. Definitely not enough room for non photography gear. The powder 500 was in fact basically exactly what I needed. Again all of it is 100% subjective, so take this with a grain of salt

@@LucaPetraliaPhotography Will be looking forward to that review, although the bag is rather expensive :-)

@@HusbandnWifeDuo it is, but compared to the likes of Shimoda, F-Stop or similar it's quite cheap.
