Yes, you can do it with no weight. You can certainly start off with just body weight or leg weight to be precise in the Reverse Hyper. You can even have someone add a little resistance by holding your ankles as you do them. . . One other way to do them, if you don't have access to a machine or a tall enough bench, is to lay on your back on the floor. Have someone hold your ankles as you push down with your legs (from your legs at a raised position). And I'll say this. . .for any type of low back problem/pain nothing beats Reverse Hypers. Nothing beats them for improving athletic performance either.

@@Colstonewall thank u I know a gym where I can use one I try this asap cuz I been in bad shape for a long time and I tried almost everything except surgery
@Colstonewall3 жыл бұрын
@@gerrygizzygarcia2572 I do not. Gerry, I've never even seen one in a gym or anywhere else. However, I can tell you how I did them. And, another alternative way you can do with a partner. I had a dresser in my bedroom that was very tall. I cleaned off the top and used it was my "machine." I would use a weight belt, or you can use just a regular belt with light weight. I wrapped the belt around my ankles, and put a small dumbbell in the loop of the between my ankles and belt. Laid on top of the dresser on my stomach obviously, and simply lowered my legs, and raised them just like a normal Reverse Hyper Machine does. Actually, I'm not sure if this isn't a better way to do them, because you can't cheat or use momentum. No swinging of the legs like you see in this video. The other alternative way is to lay flat on the floor (on your back) raise your legs up, and have a partner (wife, child, friend) hold your ankles to provide some resistance as you press downward with your legs. This particular way I don't think is as good because the mechanics of it aren't the same. But, it still works. And it's a good way to get some strength before moving onto using weight. Your only other alternative is to buy one. Westside Barbell sells them. Also another company partnered with Westside to sell a model fairly cheaply. I think that cheaper model is around $350 or so. I'll see if I can find a link and post it for you. I don't know if you want to spend that money, or even if you can afford it right now, but I assure you it's worth it. Especially if you're suffering (as I was). I have one other tip for you, Gerry. One that helped me tremendously. Vitamin C. There's all kinds of evidence Vit C will help with back pain. I don't mean taking one 500mg Vit C pill a day. You have to take it about every 3 hours or so. Or, take 2 or 3 rather large doses divided up during the day. I'll find some links for that as well. I know you may be skeptical about the Vit C, but I assure you it can work. It's also good for you, as most people don't get enough anyways. Vit C builds Collagen, and guess what's between your disks? I'll post the links in a min.
@Colstonewall3 жыл бұрын
@@gerrygizzygarcia2572 I think I misread your comment, Gerry. I thought you were asking me if I knew a gym that had one, lol. My apologies. Anyways, here's some links and studies on Vitamin C and back pain that I talked about in my other comment. I would definitely, definitely try it cause the Vit C works amazingly for back pain if you take it right. And don't worry about supposed "side effects" of "high dose" Vit C cause that's just meant to scare you. They're always trying to convince people Vit C causes Kidney Stones and other such nonsense. I use to have a really, really good article/blog post on a guy who had such bad low back pain he couldn't get out of bed. He had accidently took some Vit C thinking it was something else. He noticed he felt better within hours. He did some research and began what the Medical Industry says is "high dose" Vit C. I think he was only taking about 5 or 6 grams of it per day. And it basically "cured" his problem. . Anyways, here's some links about it. . . The Spinal Institute: www.laspine.com/vitamins-for-back-pain/ A Medical Journal (about Vit C and pain) translational-medicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12967-017-1179-7 www.thejoint.com/texas/houston/river-oaks-28010/230796-chiropractic-tip-vitamin-c-helps-lubricate-joints www.oldingchiropractic.com/doctor/chiropractor/chiropractic-Minster/nutrition-articles/the-vitamin-c-and-back-pain-connection www.empr.com/home/news/vitamin-c-and-back-pain-whats-the-link/
