It should be noted that all attendees at our family Christmas were double and triple Vaxxed and had had Rapid Antigen Tests and PCR tests prior to the Xmas weekend to safeguard catching Covid 19. Still we sadly caught the infection and just goes to show that the close quarters makes it almost impossible to ultimately avoid infection. Cheers Rossco.

This latest variant is really something - no correlation between vaccination status and infection. Fortunately being vaccinated reduces the severity. Can't imagine what you would have gone through if un-vaxed! Glad you are all on the mend. We went to two (smaller) parties at Christmas and managed to dodge the bullet - feeling lucky!

now you see the lie of the vax that everyone has been sold...it is useless..especially two months after .... now the good news is you got it you are done...natural immunity is key...just think if you could have just all been done with this a year or more ago...this is the lie your govt sold you that lock downs create some advantage...all it does is screw you longer...everyone will get this sooner or later...lets get on with our lives finally...this is now around like the common flu...forever

Im sure the boats probably already glued together by now, but I think adding some alignment sleeves( pipe in a pipe attached to top and bottom)in the corners would make the cap come down predictably and straight. Also some kind of manifold on the hydraulic jacks so you could lower them simultaneously would help. Other than that just get a bunch of people!! Amazing job on the Ross!!!

Could you use air bags or truck tubes to raise and lower it? Maybe put up poles and guides at each corner to ensure horizontal alignment? Maybe you could drill guide holes in any remaining hatches you have not cut out and tripod mounted poles from the lower deck.

Happy New Year Roscoe. We had a one day (8 hours) family gathering (Christmas Day) 12 people (7 Adults 5 tearaways) all negative on lateral flow tests. Subsequently 3 adults and 3 children all with mild symptoms negative on lateral flow, but positive by PCR - so a pretty similar strike rate to your gathering. There can be no doubt how infectious the ‘moronic’ variant actually is. Oh man marrying up this deck to the hull is a reet bugger - I cannot even begin to imagine the next phase and how difficult it is going to be to bond the two structures and do all the tabbing in those torturously small compartments. I reckon you will have to follow in the footsteps of our Victorian forebears (chimney sweeps) and employ some small boys.😀👍⛵️

Glad to hear you're all on the mend, I had a thought about the jack situation and the slow pace of the lowering. Would exhaust jack bags be of any use? They will not provide any lateral stability, but this can be worked around with either guide rods or stays at the flanges (yes MORE patching and repair work would be needed). Their advantage is that with their average lift height of around 700mm and collapsed height of only 100mm or so they would remove the need for cribbing down in stages.

Awesome family you got there, Lad. Merry Christmas! If I may offer a tip on the Pizza. Since I switched from a metal pizza peel to a wooden one, I have eliminated the tendency of the dough to stick to the peel while you're trying to shift it into the oven. I also sprinkle a little bread crumbs on the peel before putting my dough on it. Corm meal works as well. By the way. Have you ever seen those 4 post jacks for cars? Too bad you couldn't hook up something like that for your to deck. I think they work with threaded rods. Once everything is level, you could wire all 4 (or 6) motors together so when you want to raise or lower the deck, it goes up and down evenly. Just thinking out loud. It's probably too late anyway. Cheers.
