Hey I love and suck at sc2 too! I recommend the whole campaign to get a feel for the game and units; I'm trying to do brutal right now... Then try to learn the hotkeys and how to make control groups. That last step is something that really separates ranks. I forget all the time when I come back since I've been so focused on other games. Good luck!! :)

30:35 - New headcanon - All Terran structures use the same foundational frame in order to maximize the efficiency of the auto-constructing crane unit - by having structures share an identical frame with only the scale being different, the crane's programming AI can easily adapt to new types of blueprints to construct multiple different structures without needing many tweaks to its behavior, and the SCV operator can construct aspects of the structure which are not shared and so cannot be built by the crane. While some Terran designers protested that this stifled their creativity, the Dominion values function over aesthetics. Statistics over time cast doubt over the switchover to the crane AI system as opposed to the previous construction conventions, where SCV operators did all the work by themselves using pre-fabricated parts - it was observed that in practice, construction times did not improve very much with the crane system, particularly since it seems to spend almost 50% of its work time building its own support mechanisms while the SCV prepares additional building parts. But by then the contract had been signed, and the SCV Union claimed that their jobs were easier with the crane system regardless, so these findings were ignored.

Maxpax reminds me of watching baby Reynor take a game off of a Korean God. Then next game it looks good, but it all starts falling apart as Reynor was saying to himself "OMG I AM REALLY DOING THIS! I COULD BEAT MARU!" then it all comes crashing down. But baby steps maxpax, keep improving that Grey matter and you could Pull a grown up Reynor as well. This gold league lifer is proud of you 👏 👏 Also the phenix opener vs Terran has potential. Hone that. Because the killer is always siege tanks, and drops, but a pack of 3 or 4 phenix can negate both the tanks at the point of attack and prevent you from getting dropped to death. If you build phenix and colossi and Terran counters with vikings, if you double down with more phenix and a fleet beacon for 7 range phenix, could that beat Mass vikings? If it does your collosi win

@@LowkoTV oh not that part. I pointed that timestamp out cuz it was a relatively silent part and that's when I'd hear it the most. I tested it out by pausing and playing the video and I'd hear it whenever I play the video. I think it could be coming from your mic? Might be able to see it through an equaliser. It's a very very high frequency of noise tho kinda like a dog whistle, so it's possible that it's only noticeable on random earphones like mine. Anyways, you don't have to bother yourself with it too much really! It's no big deal 🙏

I like playing Protoss most of all, but what I seriously dislike about Protoss is what commitment you have to make to have detection. Immobile detection is good, that it can shoot ground too. But mobile detection requires Robo, which is expansive, builds a long time, is late in the tech tree, AND after that you have to build the Observer, which takes more time and is also very expansive. 75 gas for a unit that doesn't have attack and has 20 HP? And after you build it, you can't really detect anywhere on the map like Terran does, so you need multiple of them, and you need to keep safeguarding them and controlling them. It being perma cloaked is a debatable advantage. Good players see it every time anyway. And if they are not Protoss, they can destroy it quickly. If you want a speed upgrade for it, it's in a very expensive Tier 3 building. And it's not even that great. I think if you have an upgrade in T3 building to Observer, it shouldn't be just a minor speed increase, it should be a friggin tactical jump. Or a supercloak on a CD. Or ability to warp it in a power field. Common, Protoss are masters of time and space, yet when they face cloaked units, they are screwed. Compare it to Terran who can build Orbital after Barracks and instantly have detection anywhere on the map, in insanely large radius for insanely long amount of time. Or Zerg who also need a flyer like Protoss, but it's way less tech heavy, relatively cheaper and doesn't die in one hit or immediately after flying over turrets, even when you immediately turn it around. Also Zerg will always be able to have Overseers. It's not like you don't build Lair and Overlords. Making Protoss require to build Robo every time, even when they don't want to or don't need to go for Robo units, that's rather unfortunate. Yeah, you have Oracles, but that's even worse than Observer. More expansive, and you have to use energy to reveal.

Question from person who's never played SC or SC2 (played a bit of WC3:FT) but is watching Lowko for over a year. Why when you go with Banshee to kill enemy workers and enemy troops are targeting said Banshee, Terrans won't use scan in that location to reveal Observer so Banshee can kite it out. I think scan is much more worth to be this annoying for enemy protos than rushing mules as they share cd. Yes, mules get you resources but scan gets you time which, especially in early, is quite crucial I think. Also killing observer slows enemy detection denying Observer as well as making enemy 'lose' resources to make replacement for dead Observer. I've noticed that many protos players make only 1 detection unit in pro scene.

In both Starcrafts the problem is that Observers are built from Robos. You have many units you want to make from Robos, and none of them are Observers. (Eg, Collosi, Disruptors, Prisms, Immortals in SCII, and Reavers and Shuttles in Broodwar) Observers do not do anything as far as supply goes. You want as little supply in Obs as possible; however if you lose one, you are not only totally blind to what the Terran player is doing (is an attack coming, are they teching heavily) but if an attack is inbound you need attacking units. Further, Siege tanks and Vikings, as we see in Game 1, can be manuevered around terrain to be very hard to spot and hit. The longer they deal damage to your units, the more you bleed out. For that you need Obs.

Also Banshees can only shoot down. Observers are flying units, so Banshees cannot actually shoot them. Plus, most of the time the Terran player can tell if the Obs is nearby, since it will be attacked while cloaked. Regardless, you want the Mule, or to pool the energy for a Scan later (such as in the final game, where Byun holds scans for DT)

@@lambda6736 Thank you, I've missed the part that Banshee can't shoot air units, makes total sense now. Stating that Observers don't do anything as far as supply goes is a bit of unfair...? Vision they provide being cloaked themselves is huge imo. Many games were won only because they provided crucial vision of enemy tactics. As far as combat itself goes - yes, they don't do much except they can tell if enemy is trying to split and cover 2 sides going into clench.

@@Dzdzovnica Compare to Terran and Zerg. Zerg gets free information (Creep) and their detection doesnt cost supply (Overseers) Terran gets scans and Ravens, and Ravens offer an arsenal of pretty powerful spells. Relatively speaking, Protoss has the same issue with Observers in both games. Their detection takes supply for a unit that cannot fight or spellcast, is fragile, and is built from a structure they want to be producing something else. In addition, it represents the only way (short of constant aggression) that Protoss can get deep information on the opponent. This is, of course relative. And what you are speaking of is the reason why the Observer is in some ways an "Achilles Heel" of Protoss. You need that information. So you need that Obs alive. Compare to Zerg, where speed overlords can zoom in and out without much issue and Scans obviously are amazing. For example, when you play as Protoss in Broodwar, if your scouting probe dies, you are completely blind unless you can get Zealots out, or can get a Corsair out. And there is a very high chance that you could outright die to 3 hatch Hydra because of it. Obviously, this is before Obs usually are out anyways, but the point is that Protoss plays quite blind in most matchups unless they have Obs. So comparatively speaking, the Obs is far more important of a unit for Protoss than losing an Overseer/Overlord, or spending the energy on a scan.

Why did Byun go for cloaked banshees after seeing blink stalkers? It felt like he just wanted to force his build instead of adapting. But I wouldnt expect that from a top tier pro. (Well i guess he made it work in the last game. But that seemed like just bad micro by Maxpax)

@@Name-ru1kt Every cheese got buffed? I don't really think so. Most cheeses haven't been affected by this patch all too much, and the few that have were actually nerfed. Hatchery vision now completely removes spine-crawler rushes from the game. And proxy hatches had a slight nerf, as the broodlings that come out of the hatchery don't last as long.

Upon impact this asteroid will cause a 12.0 earthquake, a mega flaming shockwave for many hundreds of miles, world wide mega tsunamis, will split America in two, and will even stop time for 3 days as the sun and moon will stay in their places in the sky for those 3 days, and finally will kill millions of people. This asteroid is going to land between the island of Mona and the city of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico at 2:00am Puerto Rico time. (We know the hour, but not the date). When you see these final signs you'll know it's beginning: - The skies all over the entire world will turn colors like the auras - After that the skies will turn red for 3 days as a final warning - Then the asteroid hits - Then the 3 days of darkness arrive where all the light on the earth is extinguished. No light from the sun or moon or stars. It will be so dark you will be blind.
