As Lowko said: It is such easy strategy. From my POV its about intimidation on the beginning of the map. Super aggression or tight defense when needed and keeping oponent busy so he cant scout and see THAT MANY expos. As we could see, he then scout with probes making pylons. That warms my zerg hearth. We saw vulnerability in early game that late robo and no scout can be grave situation.

That first game, he's just playing protoss like they're zerg. Those pylons everywhere are like creep tumors. They allow warp in almost anywhere and while warping in where the enemy is would be a nightmare for you, warping in to the position to access where the enemy is going will be a nightmare for them. I wrote this comment before hearing Lowko make the same comment

Sending those first DTs against marines instead of SCVs was such a good move. He was always going to be ahead in workers, he just needed to keep Cure from attacking for a little bit, and that's exactly what he achieved Has is so much fun to watch

Yup, first game, cure couldn't make more production of marine so all he wanted was to delay him until the setup was ready.

It's actually the same strat rogue used to win GSL. Build mass roach and trade out with the tanks at a defecit. Mass expand. Keep smooshing with low tech. If HAS gets better at targeting the tanks with 4 stalkers (no overkill) to trim them at the start of the engages I bet he'd see even better results

Reminds me of the old "Sauron zerg" strategy from SC1, basically get as many bases as you could, then flood the enemy nonstop with low tech units. It was mostly done with Zerglings and Hydralisks (hydras were considered low-tech in SC1, and were the second unit you could get after zerglings, basically where the roach is now)

HAS was using those "random" pylons a bit like creep tumors: - They gave vision of key attack routes - The ability to warp in units is similar to creep speed boost on defense, reinforcements and attack position. At least how HAS used it l - At 300/300 they are extremely hard to kill, making them hard to clear up the pylon spread In more then 1 way, he played Protoss like Zerg

Those two Dark Templars won that first game. It was the right call to go after the army; they got a TON of value and really opened the door for that mid-game win. As soon as that army died, HAS knew he was safe to just drop a Nexus at every expansion point on the map.

I dig this zergtoss strategy a lot, warpgates allow you to have a similar unit production mechanic to multiple hatcheries and larvae, pylons function a lot like creep here and if you keep non gate units alive, the onslaught of zealots, stalkers and archons can be overwhelming.

Game 4 was brilliant by Has in the context of how games 1-3 went. Games 1 and 2 Cure was assuming Has would be his usually aggro self and played very safe openers. So Has, predicting this, went full eco greed both games and won through sheer numbers. By game 3, Cure figured out that Has was abusing his reputation as an aggresive cheesy Protoss and realized he could punish the greedy opener with cheese of his own. So that gets the series to game 4, both players are now playing without strategic assumptions about the other, so the beginning looks fairly standard. But Has made sure put on some pressure after reaching 2-base economy (with the Phoenixes), this wasn't just about trying to get some damage on the other side, this was about getting information and information control. By playing this way, his opponent no longer really gets to scout that much and Has is getting essentially 'free' scouting info with his Phoenix, at this point he also correctly predicted a fairly typically timed 3rd base by Cure, and had planned a timing attack for when the 3rd would be deployed (imo, this is probably one of the best strategies in modern SC2, timing attacks designed to delay or destroy the 3rd base, as the 2nd is usually in a very defensible location and main even more so, but the 3rd is not nearly as defensible because if they put their whole army there, the entrance to their 2nd is pretty much open, they can't be in both places simultaneously, unlike defending 2 bases where it's only one entrance you need to worry about). Cure had no idea the timing attack was coming due to lack of scouting (had to deal w/ Phoenix harass and eco, plus his planned harass got shutdown nicely by Phoenix opener). If his army wasn't at the 3rd, Cure might not have died right away, but then Has can just play contain for a bit and macro really hard (go to 4 or even 5 bases and 70+ workers while the Cure builds up to force the breakout and actually get his 3rd to stick) and then you just go full pressure because you have the eco to do so again (like in games 1 and 2). The fact that the 3rd base is the first one that's not just in front of the others (so now you suddenly have more than 1 place to defend at once), makes it the perfect time for a timing attack it hit and gain you a meaningful advantage.

I have been playing this build or a version of it using forge first and a ton of canons at masters for a decade. This is the most fun way to play Protoss and it's definitely zergtoss and it requires more APM, but very worth it!!
