Hi Loz, after watching your Centec 2A videos I decided I had to get rid of my Chinese mill and get a proper British one! Within a week of deciding this, I found a 2A on ebay, sold my crapola mill to make room for the Centec, and had it collected from Middlesboro' and brought here to Derbyshire! The chap I bought it off was lovely, he gave me a load of tooling that I had not expected, including a Clarkson Autolock chuck! I spent a month or so fettling it [I'm not as thorough as you!] and I am now delighted with my beautiful old lady! I had the same drawbar problems as you, now all overcome. Like you, I love seeing the grey Centec next to the grey Myford! Thanks very much mate! 😊

Oh baby! Great video on a big-fun project. Love the mill. These older machines are really terrific - made heavy duty to last a lifetime. Have fun with it. Stay healthy my friend. Cheers.

Hi Michael, when i stripped the machine the bits the painter could not get to with his brush were grey, he made up for it by painting all the grease and oil nipples etc lol
@Yorkshiremadmick4 жыл бұрын
Ah so the mill had a real professional paint job then 🤪🤪🤪🤪 Grey still looks champion, just need to see some action now. 👍🏻

hey up loz !got a question for you ,, my centec 2 all the gubbings are mounted on a support on which the mill sits.. this support is too long to sit on the [ bench ] so i am just going to sit the miller on the bench and run all the gubbings of the miller from one side ,, i have noticed what i call a gearbox that is connected by pulley from motor and no drive from gear to anything ,,!ther are levers on the gearbox but nowt happens ...!confusing to say the least,, well do you know the reason for this [ gearbox ] my machine is the same as yours !OH! RAISER BLOCKS ARE IN THE PIPE LINE NO CHARGE ! 75 mmx75mmx300mm. ! good enough? regards laurence

Hi James, sorry i missed this comment but also had covid when you posted it so not at my best. There should be 3 pully's on the rear of the machine, motor goes on top one the other two run off that one which engages the gearbox and levers, if you can email me a picture or vid of yours I can maybe suss out what the problem is with yours if you have not figured it out. Cheers Loz.

Not yet Dave no, mind you not used the mill recently, got half a dozen other projects half done and put to one side as usual.
