So cool to see this approach, especially with the LPV discussion. I’m only a virtual pilot but have a long association with Harstine Island and Shelton since marrying my wife who shares ownership with her sisters of property on the island. We have been visiting the cabin for the 44 years of our marriage. It’s on the Pickering Passage side of Howard Cove just north of the bridge from the mainline. Anyway, I’ve been “flying” X-Plane for nearly 25 years. During that time I published many airports for use by fellow sim-gamers and I updated my KSHN just a year or so ago. I’m very familiar with RNAV 23 approach which gives a great view of the property and bridge shortly after passing OYRED. Since settling in Ellensburg after moving back to Washington just a couple years ago, I was happy to find your videos just this fall. Watching your videos, I’ve had a chance to see what flying into many of the airports I’ve visited virtually and it’s so much fun. I’m a geologist by training and retired teacher, so it’s a blast seeing the real places from your point of view. I really love maps and editing airports lets me combine my passion for aviation with my mapping skills to elaborate and touch up several of X-Plane’s Gateway airports including KELN, KEPH, KPUW, 2S5 (my wife’s hometown, Waterville), and KEAT.

I'm glad you enjoy the videos. The PNW has so many geological wonders to see. I hope in the year ahead to visit more places.

KSHN is a great resource. I often use it when giving instruction to Bonanza owners.

Thanks for video. Didn't see the PAPI's...where they there?

I tried activating the PCL several times, but it appears that the PAPIs did not illuminate. There are no NOTAMs indicating a problem with the lights.
