In a world with the one ring, the initiative, Urza’s saga, and the evoke elementals, I think stifle is better than it’s ever been. Especially since you can use it for tricks like stifling the loss of life for your own one ring, or countering the triggered ability that lets them take the initiative from you.

I think there's a cool line that got breezed over game 1 where Ben uses the reanimate to take Nelly's myr battlesphere. 7 life is a lot but Getting a huge blocker to stonewall the double etched champion threat in Nelson's hand while also removing it as an option for combos later with goblin welder seems like a worthwhile enough trade. Especially knowing how few colorless options Ben has in his deck to deal with threats. It opens up the threat of Nelly copying it with the metamorph but that's something a mardu deck is much better positioned to handle.

My favourite moment is how Myr ball is canlander playable, "terrible myr" is one of may favourite EDH kindred decks, so it's wild seeing ot's best card is ~fine~

I was not ready for a mardu deck to be built on 4s so much that keeping a 2 lander goes from being mildly sketchy at worst all the way up to a real misplay. Guess that's just the initiative for you.

at ~53:00, why not attack with a spirit at tamiyo? that would kill that PW and solve potential future problems. Especially since the spirits have haste and I really doubt an unsuited welder is blocking.

Yeah, not clearing the walker felt like a mistake to me. Especially since there was a Shadowspear offering trample. This means a 1/1 isn't that effective of a chump blocker in case Nelson goes for the aggressive line of throwing all the equipment on the welder and attacking.

Feeling like Ben had multiple opportunities to bounce Tamiyo with Karakas (especially after the Fell the Profane was cast). Like in response to the second clue being cracked. Maybe I'm missing something

He could have baited it at one point and got it with the bolt, but Nelly was playing pretty tight being able to flip her in response. Slightly annoyed at Mindstone being in with the lands but such is paper magic.

Edit: I should have watched the next thirty seconds of the video, Paul caught this. LMAO 40:00 I had to deal with a similar weird ruling in OTJ limited when I cast One Last Job and wanted to get a Buried in the Garden back with it. An aura can't be put onto the battlefield - or in this case, created - enchanting something it can't legally enchant; if that would happen, you just do nothing instead. So the Not Dead After All doesn't make a Wicked Role token and Nelly doesn't lose the one life. (In my case, I ended up getting a Gold Pan back instead and stuck that on one of the creatures I returned.)

I think there’s a neat line in game 1 ( 15:27 ) where Ben can galvanic discharge (or eliminate) the etched champion after Nellie sacks the treasure to cast metamorph… could’ve been Powerful!

1) Im a nerd who noticed the credits where wrong. 2) loved game three. Watching Nelly fight out from under the Norn oppression was great, and as soon as he got a turn without his ETBs, what a huge swing. GG to both parties (Also Ben, I dont think missing the tamiyo attack mattered in the end, for what its worth)

They very often do that at the start of the Episode. The common nomenclature seems to be "name of colour combination + signiture mechanic/creature"

The original Myr Enforcer art is some of my favorite art in Magic. I always thought it looked like something out of an Akira Toriyama joint whenever he tried to design something futuristic looking. Calling it a Teletubby is.. I dunno. I have no affection for that.

I’m sorry Ben, but unfortunately Scatman John died in 1999, only a few years after he got famous. Fun fact about him; he had a horrible stutter, so bad it was basically a speech impediment. Following the footsteps of his favorite musicians Luis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, he learned how to scat, and became the scatman john we know and love today. Everyone reading this should listen to Everybody Jam, it’s a banger.

Regarding playing Not Dead After All on Kiki-Jiki and the interaction between Elesh Norn, Taimyo and Living Weapon in game 3 and not knowing what will happen rules-wise: a player can announce the play and then you can just look it up. This is still edited content. You don't have to show us the time you spent looking it up. You can edit that out. Maybe insert a funny pause screen. Yes, it will interrupt the flow of the game and the casual style. But if you want to showcase the decks and possible includes, it might be better they are played correctly.

nelly's shirt is a clean cool monocolor. bengineering's color is bland; it allows the pattern to pop. there's simply too many different use-cases to determine a single best shirt.
