Looks like the Mrs is chasing some power with gearing upgrades to the old Malvern Star. Power at the wheels in the 300 - 400hp range is nothing to sneer at with good lowdown torque. Good to see you are not chasing numbers, seat of the pants will be the judge. Keep up the good work.

Oh too, imo....DEFINITELY no big cam in there either...I had stock LS1 VZ SS years ago... no internal top or bottom end work at all,...just pacemakers, 2.5 exhaust, high flow cat, mafless tune, CAi....struggled to make just over 300hp, so the old VN LS1is looking pretty good👍🏻

Hey mate keep up the awesome videos👍 One word of advice don’t mount the catch can under guards or in front of wheels! The reason being is if the catch can overflows or fails the oil drops in front of your wheels and can lead to a very bad day at the drags when you end up in the wall or spinning out.

Awesome info bro!! Very true about the dyno numbers, they don’t really mean too much! Those heater hoses look to be off the VE series motor, my ls1 has the hoses at the bottom, running under the brake booster. Also be careful on the otr choice, I had an alloy one and used to get hot as hell.... I’ve actually gone with the k&n pod filter setup as it comes with a side compartment for the filter to sit in! Doesn’t seem too bad. Cheers!

Nice vid mate. Agree with your dyno analysis. There are so many variables, stall, gears, tyre size etc. will also affect the “number”, not to mention different dyno’s and ambient temps. It sounds healthy enough, could be right about the cam in there though, TK is pretty rowdy.
@MuscleCarLover3 жыл бұрын
I mainly looked at the power figure to make sure there was no noticeable drop from the first run lol. Seems like it's all sorted now with better torque delivery. With intake temp, I think even a stainless heat shield would be in improvement, but sounds like you're for a more serious solution to that.

70 degrees IAT's when driving is terrible I see 35-45 in normal driving conditions with a 2 hole mod standard air box in summer lower in winter, the inlet air temps can affect the dyno numbers just like a different dyno on a different day in colder weather so it may of made the power you have print outs for.... poor effort from the last tuner to leave the gearbox settings factory in a camshaft with a converter car,just about every tune I've done for someone they love the gearbox shift's just as much as the tune.

basically it would drive or go like a VF or VE 6lt, but change the diff gears and it will even beat a vf or ve 6lt, because of the weight and the 4 speed auto IMHO as the VF 6lt has around 230KW at the rear wheels approx. put a OTR and good fuel and tune and with stock headers and exhaust it get to around 260KW at the rear tyres ,put full exhaust and hi flow cats and the number goes to around 285KW at the tyres.:) But you cant go wrong with a LS with OTR and tune, the pod filter needs to have a large inlet just under the front bar and have a closed inbox type set up and you will not have hot engine air going into the intake and like Steve said extra 10 HP at the rear wheels easy?
