It’s not making any more power at 7000 so seems pointless but a good set of ported heads should help. Still 6600 is more than enough revs and it’s a lot safer as it’s a stock motor

@@victorpeirce4753 I’d have just put a built turbo 700 that setup worked well with 3.9 diff on my VX my PB 10.80 @ 126mph with a 150 shot. NA LS1 cam and heads 3600 stall.

Not having a stab just curious why you would want to rev it harder if it doesn’t make power after certain revs. Don’t get me wrong I love a high reving engine but if it’s not making power why not play it safe and knock it back so where it makes it’s peak. Sorry for the comment I get the same things on my videos but does help me with things and makes me realise a lot of things

Borescope camera down the plug hole and look at the piston. I know the heads are coming off anyway, but it may show the amount of damage beforehand.

Sorry to see the damage. Its expensive and gut wrenching particularly when money is tight. I'm guessing the collets were not seated properly within the retainer. Its absolutely crucial they are. When doing them. Heads off preferably....I use a soft hammer after collets spring install. They all get tapped to check seated correctly. While your heads are off, I'd suggest a light skim and new valves, stainless and new seals if not already done. Fit everything while heads are off. And dont skrimp on MLC Gaskets. New bolts for heads etc

Dam, same thing happened to me. Got it back from a performance shop, week later the rocker stand failed, they hadn't been checked. Valve dropped, exhaust heat melted the intake and it all collapsed inwards. 2 rockers completely smashed to bits. The shop happily fixed it all with only charging labor.

Unlucky! I remember reading on one of the ls pages someone talking about how getting the heads done increases the Hp but also moves the power band higher in the rpm range so can actually lose low-mid range power. Not sure how true this is but maybe worth looking into.

Hi mate, chin up, I had a Clevo drop a valve to the point it seized the engine, head off, bits of valve and stem in the hole and a fair gouge from piston but installed new double valve springs, set of valves and she hasn’t missed a best since, I’m sure yours will be exactly the same! 👌👌👌👌👌

Very strange for the collet to pull through. I had this happen, but worked out it was caused by a dud PAC valve spring. Crow Cams make good stuff. Maybe let them examine the spring, retainer and locks from that valve and ask their opinion. Also check if any of the others are starting to recess.

Max RPM for no reason, causing valve float = dropped valve. Not every time, but the more it happens, the more it happens. Maybe the bloke driving the laptop should explain his reasons, to you, his customer, why he pushed the engine rpm way past what cam specs suggest as the operating rpm range for that cam in that driveline combo.

It's hard to tell from the aftermath but you may be able to tell from one of the others, but it looks like the rocker has been contacting the retainer instead of the valve tip.

I’d be having a chat with that tuner Without any spring, cam, push rod etc specs mentioned in vid it’s a little difficult to pin point fault You have installed springs correctly That tuner had the car strapped down incorrectly for 1 Secondly huge flair in transmission coming up on load Also tuner incorrectly applied cell load upon run etc etc And to be honest Your engine was over revved (massive valve bounce) which caused the piston to hit valve Nothing to do with retainers or your fitting of springs That pop at the end was the valve hitting the piston Also Please don’t tell me the 14.3 etc etc on the gauge wasn’t your afr If it was Way way too lean Another way to drop a valve

With a little cam, it's a waste of money for very little gain. Might make an extra 5 maybe 10 Kw all of it up top, and will actually lose torque and power in the lower rpm range.

I don't understand why you want to go higher rpm .. Check your cam specs and go via that as most cams make peak power for around 4000rpm . Might come in at 2500rpm and be done by 6500rpm .
