It’s not making any more power at 7000 so seems pointless but a good set of ported heads should help. Still 6600 is more than enough revs and it’s a lot safer as it’s a stock motor

@@victorpeirce4753 fair enough but is it going to help if he can’t get any more power? I suppose it will because it won’t hit the limiter hey.

Not having a stab just curious why you would want to rev it harder if it doesn’t make power after certain revs. Don’t get me wrong I love a high reving engine but if it’s not making power why not play it safe and knock it back so where it makes it’s peak. Sorry for the comment I get the same things on my videos but does help me with things and makes me realise a lot of things

Sorry to see the damage. Its expensive and gut wrenching particularly when money is tight. I'm guessing the collets were not seated properly within the retainer. Its absolutely crucial they are. When doing them. Heads off preferably....I use a soft hammer after collets spring install. They all get tapped to check seated correctly. While your heads are off, I'd suggest a light skim and new valves, stainless and new seals if not already done. Fit everything while heads are off. And dont skrimp on MLC Gaskets. New bolts for heads etc

Very strange for the collet to pull through. I had this happen, but worked out it was caused by a dud PAC valve spring. Crow Cams make good stuff. Maybe let them examine the spring, retainer and locks from that valve and ask their opinion. Also check if any of the others are starting to recess.

Max RPM for no reason, causing valve float = dropped valve. Not every time, but the more it happens, the more it happens. Maybe the bloke driving the laptop should explain his reasons, to you, his customer, why he pushed the engine rpm way past what cam specs suggest as the operating rpm range for that cam in that driveline combo.

Well there is a lot to digest in this video, as below - At least you’ve got more content for the VN if you’ve got the will power - We’re all praying Daniel was the one that installed that valve spring haha - Someone who whinges about the cold to then go to Hobart in August means they probably secretly like the cold - Maybe a good thing the hubcap cracked, it looks heaps better on chasers imho (I know it’s a cliche a VN on Chasers but fair enough)

I’d be having a chat with that tuner Without any spring, cam, push rod etc specs mentioned in vid it’s a little difficult to pin point fault You have installed springs correctly That tuner had the car strapped down incorrectly for 1 Secondly huge flair in transmission coming up on load Also tuner incorrectly applied cell load upon run etc etc And to be honest Your engine was over revved (massive valve bounce) which caused the piston to hit valve Nothing to do with retainers or your fitting of springs That pop at the end was the valve hitting the piston Also Please don’t tell me the 14.3 etc etc on the gauge wasn’t your afr If it was Way way too lean Another way to drop a valve
