Well to all the people who scroll to read this, The haka is not a show. It's a sign of your Mana, your Manamaorimotuhake, Your Koiora. It's a chant to the atua, I may die or I may live, I am the man that will stand tall, I will step up and continue to step up until I am left standing. This is why it mostly used for Sports or Powhiri.

@@klh5107 Apparently if you're not intimidated by the Haka, don't care for it, or whatever. You're either "soft" or "uncultured". Seem to be the 2 most popular responses to someone not agreeing with everybody else. Just another example of how society wants you to agree with everything they agree with or you're an outcast. People like you are sheep really. You call me soft, but you're the one covered in wool. I'm sorry you're also intimidated by dudes slapping their legs and yelling. I bet you also cower at your mother's feet when someone talks shit to your face, instead of behind the computer like you do.

LucidDream it’s called a war cry. They would do this dance right before going into battle with the goal to intimidate the enemy. It would work. It became traction to do this war cry before most international sporting events as well, just as effective as it was on the battlefield 1000s of years ago. Terrifying. Trust me.

Lukeson Drölf keep in mind that the time when the haka was actually used as a war dance was when the Maori were war like, aggressive warriors who had a hobby of collecting heads as trophies. Now imagine being faced with them with the certainty that you will be beheaded if you lose, the cries of women “in pain” would add to the ambiance. So yes thats part of the culture

It's a shame that it's come this far. I personally don't care who gave them a "blessing" to do this, it's something they should be ashamed of.
