19:09 My old player brain felt a Mystic Snake coming when opponent tapped 4 mana with GUU up. I think that was even a good cube card back in the day.
@naphackDT18 сағат бұрын
The problem with the card isn't even the power level. From pure power considerations, it would probably do fine in some decks. The problem with the card is that it just got way too heavy color requirement for the level of power it brings to the table. The cross section of decks that want it is just too narrow. Back in the day it was fine if you could only cast it turn 5 or 6. Nowadays you NEED to have perfect UG mana if you want to play the snake in your cube deck.

Folks it's not that he wouldn't get the meaning, or that the phrase is unusual, it's just that he frequently points out when LSV is seemingly negotiating his luck with some unknown forces like they can respond or react to his actions.

ok, im finally saying it. stone forge mystic seems way too undervalued by EVERYONE. Every time I see it played it seems to win the game, and LSV passes it while in white! He lets it table when he knows someone has Kaldra and he could actually make a decent (albeit mostly side board) use of it. I don't know, just seems very powerful in cube imo

Turn 2 stoneforge with a kaldra in the deck can win games very often in my experience
@wesleykorisky8600Күн бұрын
Stoneforge is only as powerful as what it gets. Kaldra being the card, batterskull the close second. Miss on both and stoney isn't nearly as good.
@Slimpster520Күн бұрын
@@wesleykorisky8600i don’t know if batterskull is actually a close second. Every time someone plays batterskull I still seem to win against them, kaldra not so much.

It's there any consideration to spec on the kaldra compleat in the pack you took the LED from in case of stoneforge (unless I didn't notice stoneforge was already gone)? You didn't even mention it as a possibility. *edit* Stoneforge did show up and you mentioned not taking kaldra so you didn't overlook it as I suspected.

It's weird, right? But I think they realized they needed a way to deal with TNN. That thing was so freakin stupid at first. I mean, I doubt that's the ONLY reason Council's Judgement exists, but seriously, True Name was just the most feels-bad of feels-bad cards for quite awhile.

someone needs to cut Guardian Scale Lord from the cube, replace it with Ranger Captain or Avycyn or Arch Angle of Tides
@DiscardatRandom19 сағат бұрын
Scale lord is better than all of those even though I agree it should be cut
@brianh584418 сағат бұрын
@@DiscardatRandom I think Avacyn is a bit better because it has an immediate impact on the board and can be played alongside counterspells, but yeah she's not amazing either.

@DiscardatRandom18 сағат бұрын
@ white’s 5 drops just kinda suck
@brianh584418 сағат бұрын
@@DiscardatRandom It's conditional on having something in play to attack with and something in the yard to bring back. Quite often it comes down and just puts the counter on itself and then needs to live a turn. Avacyn at least is flash, so you don't have to commit to something sorcery speed and get blown out, and its only real condition is that your opponent attacks with a 3/3 or smaller creature or that you have creatures in play and can counter a removal spell or wrath. I mean this is not a hill I would die on but I do think it's a bit stronger and it's a card I'm happier to have in my decks if I need a bit more beef. The ceiling for scalelord is definitely higher though.
