Thanks for sharing! A lot of tuners are tight lipped about anything car related. I really enjoyed it. I had no idea you give so much support to vets and first responders, that’s awesome! I’m a huge fan of motorsports, an Army vet, I’d give just about anything for a ride along on a road course, I’ll be paying close attention for that one. Congrats on the new channel’s success. Keep cranking out the vids!

Pro Tip: Change the FOV on your gopro off of Wide so you don't get that fisheye look, and it will make the frame look much better. Hero 4 change from W to M, and if you're using a Hero 5 or 6 change it from Wide to Linear. Or keep in on wide and just use the zoom slider to play around with a better look.

I used to not like spoilers and other aero because of the hot boy reputation, then I actually needed aerodynamics and love it just as much as any engine mod. If it works, I like it.
@El_Chompo6 жыл бұрын
It's funny how anti-wing most people became over the last several years, to the point where people are actually taking them off of stock lambos that came with them (Jay Lenno) because it was the thing to do at the time. I believe that they got their bad reputation way back when everybody was putting them on Civics and Integras. But yeah they look great on some cars and actually do help traction too if you have RWD. Also I learned that spoilers are for separating airflow from going down the trunk, like those flat wings that drag cars have, or the tiny lip on the trunk that some stock road cars have. This reduces drag. And a wing is for downforce.
@gmabailey406 жыл бұрын
Its only rice on cars that have 0 engine mods. Most old show cars were all out added weight on bags and than you pop the hood to see a dirty bay. Just like pimp my ride. Then people confused race cars with show cars and all aero got a bad name when its pretty easy to tell what's what
@joshlewis50656 жыл бұрын
Look at the wing on the T1 GTR, it has springs on the back mount and a hinge on the front of the wing. The faster you go, the more air pushes on the wing and the wing flattens. The rusult is a lot of downforce at slow speeds but you do not over-produce downforce at high speeds. It is a genious design
@travispeoples6 жыл бұрын
A quote from my good friend Ron Underwood that I'll probably never forget "Why buy one when you can spend twice as much money making one that won't look as nice?!" ... Love the project... Love the car! Love the videos!
@romanchongy93536 жыл бұрын
Good vid. The rear diffuser will create added down force the steeper it is to a point but the air flow will become detached if its too steep which will effectively stall the diffuser and it will be be doing nothing. If the bumper is not structural it will also just deform it under load rather than transfer the down force. Down force is a science in of itself and not easy at all!

I'm a pretty hardcore non-ls swap guy. In fact I grew up with Ford's, but this project looks really tempting for really not that much money

+1 on the the rear end gear ratio. I went with a 3.00 on my RWD project. Plenty of power/torque plus a tight gear ratio trans didn't need anything more.

I see you have already reinforced your rails underneath for that trans mount. You might consider making something of a "butterfly brace" that will fit your current configuration. If you look up Miata butterfly brace, you'll see what I mean. That should tighten up the chassis quite a bit. And if you're really after good aero, take a look at Miata fast back kits. That'll give you some good ideas.

About cost: It's a good idea to sit down, make a list of what you want, and spend the time to price it all out BEFORE you buy the first part. That's how I found out my upcoming B16B swap/total revamp after sitting 14 years CRX will cost me a little north of $8K.

I'm surprised you used that plantaion bar to tie tranny and rear end together. I used frame rails that goes over your exciting frame. And rhen you can make tour own tranny mount and bracket. It worked so much better. And yes a wing does help on the down force. Especially going around the turn coming out of a straight away.
