Glad you like the mounts! For installation though it is MUCH easier to leave the main bolt in the mount in place (just tighten to ~20ftlbs so the gap is taken up, don't overtighten) when installing the engine. You can rotate the mounts up, drop the engine near in place, then flip the mounts down and wiggle into place. That is why the holes are oval, to allow the engine to wiggle into place on final install. Once the bolts are tight it wont move at all, although locktite on the bolts is probably a good idea. Installing like you did will be much harder trying to align the main mount bolt. As far as vibration, on the 99-06 trucks the VAST majority of people can't tell the difference between my mounts and stock mounts. Even my solid mounts the vast majority of people dont notice any additional vibration, so I think you will be fine there. The 07-13 trucks are a little more susceptible since the harmonics on that body style are less forgiving, but the 99-06s generally never have issues.

instead of ordering a thread chaser, just take one of your old tork-to-yield head bolts and cut a couple slots down the side of the threads with a cutoff wheel. It works great to clean out the threads.

Cut a slit into one of the old head bolts to make a thread chaser. I've been doing this for years, works great. Love the videos.

I installed those motor mounts on my truck in 2018 (2010 GMC sierra z60 full bolt on) best thing I ever did I got to where I had to replace mounts once a week even with limit straps

Any bets on if Matt is going to have to loosen those mount bolts on the frame to get them to line back up on install. That was a super tight fit. Those are Nice Mounts!

My 03 Z71 started loosing coolant like mad a month ago. A careful exam found no external leaks. Oil is clear, no foam on oil filler cap, no white smoke out of exhaust. I lost a gallon in 200 miles. I gave up and “stop leaked” it. It stoped. I’m going to pull plugs and look for an “outlier”. I’ve seen the videos about porous head castings. Pondering an LQ9 swap with long tubes, AFR heads, mild cam swap. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise. Stay warm. Dave in Omaha

Do you have 706 heads? They commonly crack around the head bolts. Pop off the valve covers and see if there’s milk residue slung all over the covers

Check your auxiliary heater lines. Mine started leaking randomly only in very cold weather, in the rear end half near y pipe flange. I think there's quick connects that are giving up the ghost for me. Never saw coolant in driveway. Seems to only leak while driving.

Would you recommend rebuilding the bottom end or just leave it be and build the top end with cam, new gaskets, lifters and etc to make it reliable? I also heard of installing a Dunbar something like that it's like a dog bone shape to project oil and reduce failure. I got a 00 suburban with the 5.3 and I got 215k roughly. I'm only looking to make maybe 460 to 500 HP tops. What would you recommend?

Matt you're going to want the bolts a little loos when you go to drop the engine in with how tight the mounts are.

Just use a old head bolt and take a dremel and make to lines on each side and run it in the block and that will do the trick.
