She's a purdy girl, that Tihiti. Mine just got a new starter, alternator, and fuel pump. Next up, a new R/R door window that got broken while parked in front of my house. I think someone just had something sticking out of the side of a truck and it smacked/broke the window, and they didn't even know they did the damage. The funny thing is, I recently had to have the exact same repairs done to my Dakota too. They both have new AGM batteries in 'em too, so, should be fine for winter.

Need to RTV seal the knock sensor rubber plugs in to keep the water out. That was the big problem with them through codes and going bad due to rust and water. Also watch the newest Engine Masters show on Motor Trend about LS motor oil pumps. It's a real eye opener.

Seeing the rust you have to deal with. I don't live in the rust belt, but I know a lot of you car guys do. (my grandfather had a Tavern, fishing lake and dance hall up in northern tip of Wisconsin) But all the rust that destroys your cars up there from the salt they put on the roads in the winter. I can't help but think there has to be a better way of dealing with winter driving than all the salt rust destroying all your cars and trucks. I think I detect how you guys just live with it. I see so many new trucks that fail safety insp. within 6-10 years or less. I don't know but even when I drive in the snow out west salt doesn't seem to be used.

Are you planning on installing some kind of stall with the cam or keeping it stock? The more I’ve been researching after being informed that the “stock converter compatible” cam I wanted actually needs a stall, I’ve been seeing time and time again that even our trucks could really benefit from adding a stall even with the stock cam. I’m going down a rabbit hole right now on stalls and think I may factor a 2600-2800 stall into my cam upgrade. I just don’t want it to feel like a race truck or not street friendly. It would be nice to get off the line quicker in certain situations. Will probably need a beefed up trans at that point too. The cycle never ends lmao.

this job is an excellent fall or early spring job. 100% not recommended to do this at home in the summer or winter.why did you pull off the whole frontend? you can pull it without pulling the whole radiator and lights and everything else. the oil dipstick the, easiest way to pull that out when it's broke off, is using one of those reverse drill bits to pull out broken head screws, high torque low speed..

Last question my Z71 came with lifetime XM radio as the satellite radio module is behind the radio can I upgrade the radio as mine ate my CD's lol to the one you use in yours without losing the XM. Also I have always preferred a sleeper verses loud I guess it's something to do with my love for older Cadillacs. Your long Island neighbor Eddie J.
