My dad had one of these in Saudi arabia in the 90s. His was a California import and had a nice body kit and skirts and they'd done the convertible modification but it'd been done extremely well. It looked totally factory. Went like and absolute train and sounded incredible. Handled terribly mind, especially after they chopped the top off. That's how she died, he climbed a small palm tree in her. But she certainly was a head turner until then 🤦🏻♂️. In the deep metallic burgundy ruby colour. Looked so much better with the kit his had too.

My first car at 14 was a 94 Convertible in the admiral blue 6 Speed not the ZR-1 but drove it hour & half back home barely knew how to drive a stick. And I still remember feeling like a rocket ship the incline to pull up was so steep. I think I killed it 4 times before I finally got her out and I hammered it then dumped the clutch and tires burning never let out of it and slid into opposite lane just perfect. The guys at shop cheering, embarrassing to exhilarating. I say perfect but I was supposed to go right but ended up left. But hey nobody else knew that so fake it till you make it.

Thanks for posting, Lee. Training for sales people back in the day? I have only watched the first chapter so far. What is a 969?😂 Whoever wrote this at GM should've gone back to class! 😮 I always thought that ZR-1's DIDN'T receive Z-51 spec'd parts...something engineering would maybe have been at odds with the managerial decision makers who made that decision because they thought the people who could afford the car would want a soft ride... Hib Halverson even bought the Z51 spec'd parts but never got around to installing them before he sold "Barney". ...Just my recollections. That Quasar Blue Z looks beautiful and videos like this are fun to watch and remember when the ZR-1 was King of the Hill!
