"East Asian" is quite a tenuous generalization both culturally and genetically. Though even if we accept it as a valid generalization, it's just an absolutely ignorant thing to say. In not just weightlifting, the strongest pound for pound gymnasts are historically Japanese/Chinese. Basically any sport/activity that takes bodyweight strength, Chinese/Japanese/Korean have always been the strongest. The fastest non-black sprinters are all East Asian now too, due to raw pound for pound explosiveness (rather than relying on leverages). The most explosive short-distance sprinter in the world is Chinese (the 40-yard dash would be dominated by Su Bingtian if it were a competition).
